5:2 diet

Well I have lost 2lbs this week. So not a bad start! Was worried though as I am addicted to weighing myself every day! After the 2 days of 500 cals I was down 3 lbs which was wonderful then after 3 days of normal eating it looked like I had put the weight back on however when I weighed myself this morning (which is after 7 days since I started) it was a definate 2lbs. :j0

Had last week off work and have put on about 5lb:eek::eek::eek: I didn't even have any easter eggs.
Decided at the outset not to stick to the diet when I am on "holiday" so now I need to be put into the "piggy pen":o
Why does it always go on so much faster than it comes off?
Perhaps I should have a few weeks of 4:3 instead of 5:2:(Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
Melbury Know what you mean - what with Easter & a family function coming up this weekend its blown my 5:2 totally off course! I'm going to try to do a FD tomorrow which if I manage it will only be 1:6 - still, better than nothing & hopefully my weight will stay the same (crosses fingers behind back )Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Hi all
Hope everyone had a good Easter! Mine has been v good diet wise - went to my spinning Class early Sunday morning, and did a work out today ... I did think of changing my fast day to tomorrow this week, but now that I'm almost done, I'm glad I didn't.
Even went to a food market and decorated cupcakes - but didn't eat a thingBought some lively chedder/lime/chilli cheese for lunch tomorrow though
Scales are behaving at the moment, but Wednesday morning will know for sure!

Ok well last week I didn't lose much, but was pleased with my loss overall-I assume the blip was as it was my time of the month (never seem to lose on that week, on any diet I have ever done).
Now on the 10th fast day and am now at 15 stone 3lbs-so an extra big loss this week. Can't believe it really 1 stone 3lbs in just under 5 weeks is brilliant.
To those debating about diet drinks/squash I have rediscovered a love for herbal/fruit teas-don't add any sugar/honey etc and they have little cal value-but having something along the lines of a tea/coffee/soup seems to take the edge off any hunger pangs. In summer once my herbs are growing again I intend to try making some myself-need to find out how to dry mint lol.
I see some people are counting calories on feast days, but for me this defeats the object of doing the diet. However I found once I got to week 2 and week 3 i was natually eating less on my feast days, plus the cravings i have had as long as I can remember have gone. Anyone else noticed the feeling when you "NEED" to have something chocolately or sweet has gone on this diet?
Its really odd, but extremely liberating, like I was controlled by food, but I now control it. Don't get me wrong, on my feast days I still enjoy chocolately stuff/cream/cakes/bics etc, but I don't get that almost overwelming feeling that I need to eat it asap once its in the house. Think me sort of doing a drooling homer type deal over things, well that's now gone.
Been out in the garden today as its lovely and sunny-but still cold. Hope things warm up soon as its such good exercise.

Like the look of that spicy lentil soup. I have some homemade spicy tomato soup in the freezer and am thinking I could defrost it, add a little extra water/stock plus the lentils, let it cook down and blitz and I am there-will use up my soup nicely lol.

My 5th Fast Day today! I was visiting family for Easter Sunday (it was also my younger brothers 21st birthday) and ate so much i made myself feel sick! Between the birthday cake, easter eggs and indian takeaway it's not a wonder i felt ill! Fast day today anyway (thank goodness!) and am not finding it too difficult as am spending the whole day on the train (eight hour journey!) So far have had a few pieces of courgette and a 260 cal ''count on us'' chicken sandwich from M+S. I'll workout when i get home so long as this train speeds up a bit (it's delayed at the moment!) and have some soup before bed.
Happy easter all! x0 -

Its my second fast day today. Just fruit and then a low calorie ready meal later. My second fast will be Thursday and then I might try a stir fry but I am not sure I'd be too tempted to snack on bits whilst cooking.0
