    Hi all

Well I sts this week ... not too bothered as I did a lot more exercise this week and I always plateau when I start exercising sometimes for a good few weeks while my muscles get used to it and retain water. Feeling very positive for next week - bring it on!

Second 2 of the week and I'm out of celery :( Wonder if gin is considered a reasonable alternate?

Edited to add: sorry for the frivolity: life is challenging, and entirely out of my control, right now. And gin, or toast, or even celery might make things seem a little easier.

The more frivolity the better I say :)

This reminded me of the Aldi/Lidll advert on the telly, the lady saying 'My husband likes this tea, he also like this tea........... I don't like tea, I like Gin!' ...... that lady is my hero!

I haven't seen it as I'm not in the UK but I appreciate the sentiment :)

Well we are back from our holiday; 3 self service buffets (lovely food) plus afternoon tea!!! Luckily I didn't like the puddings as they were far too sweet for me so I had the fresh fruit. That was my only 'good' choice. Not going to mention the wine/beer/spirits.

Was very surprised when I got on the scales this morning as I have gained just 2lbs. Felt like jumping up and down. I wasn't that worried about weight gain as I know I can quickly loose them on this wonderful way of eating.

We have decided to have just the 1 fast day this week as my OH bought back a nasty cold from Egypt and he feels more like being pampered rather than deprived. Will get back to normal of Monday and Wednesday fasts next week.

So glad to read how well everyone is doing and that several new people joined in. They wont regret it; there has never been an easier way to see lbs melt away.

Well I'm about to start a fast day and I am loving this way of eating.

It's quite bizarre I weighed in on Tuesday at the same weight as I have done for the past 3 weeks now but I am wearing a size smaller trousers for work as the size I was wearing a month ago are hanging off me. I'm sure the actual weight loss will happen soon but I'm very happy with the inch loss.

Mands - it sounds like your going through a tough time. Take care of yourself and forget the diet/eating thing for now. There are plenty of things much more important to worry about at times than a few extra pound of weight. I don't know what you're going through but it's a sentiment I live by - some days a cake or drink is necessary to get through the day and the extra 'guilt' of it being while you're on a 'diet' is the last thing on my mind. There's always tomorrow to be good.

Always make a stock out of a chicken carcass, but sure what the calorie content would be, so don't use it on an FD day !

Fasting today, had a small cox apple and a cup of tea with soya milk, then a black tea so far, have a huge bowl of salad and two tomatoes for lunch - I will make a dressing from some hummus and a stir fry for tea later. I am usualy cold on fast days too but it's worth it my body shape has changed massively and my arms, chest and shoulders are starting to look a wee bit ripped sometimes, though I had a wimpy day at the gym yesterday as I was tired from only having 3 hours sleep :( Made up for it last night slept from 9 to 12, had a wash and went to bed and slept unil 5 minutes before my alarm).

I have borrowed the book for this diet and from what I understand the way the diet works is that on the 5 days you eat normally, the "normally" is actually following the Mediterranean diet.

Is this what everyone is doing or are you all eating just normal "normally" to loose weight? - If that makes sense?

If people are just doing their own variation are you still loosing weight?

I dont have the time to read through all the posts to find out the answer to this!

    Thanks
