I am a bloke and allowed to have 600 so I can still do it. I am hoping to last till teatime then have some veg. In danger of backsliding here, normaly I am fine on fast days.
Stay strong, you can do it :T
If you're looking for a low calorie evening meal, I grated a cauliflower yesterday to make cauliflower rice, then I roasted some veg. Got a huge plate for less than 200 cals and I had to throw half of it away as it was just too much. So hang in there matey0 -
Go and drink some tea/coffee/water whatever adouglasmhor. When I gave up smoking 18 years ago, when I was tempted to smoke I used to say dont let yourself down, you've done x amount of days you can get through today. Once 3 or 4 days had passed I knew I couldnt go back.
I'm on my first ever fast day, my body doesnt know whats hit it. I feel really sleepy and just a bit light headed. Have had at least 4 peppermint teas today when I felt hungry, a small bowl of home made tomato and garlic soup for 70 cals at lunchtime but seems ages till tea time and I'm so hungry.
Going to have a Quorn cottage pie for tea for 360 cals and some extra veg but need to work out the cals for that.
Veg is quite low as long as you stay from the starchy veg, a handy thing I find is a nice hot cup of oxo or bovril if you like it some drink buoillion too, if it is poss a sleep wont hurt either x good luck for rest of day x2 week 5:2=5.5lb off.0 -

I'm at work at the mo. just come on my lunch and I'm amazed I've made it to now without having had anything else all day. Last week I had some fruit in the morning but today I've had a cup of green tea and now a cup a soup. Going to have a prawn stir fry later and enjoy it knowing I've got nearly 400cals left!0

Well done all of you. You are all doing fabulously. I am on a fast day and have just had a surge of love for my fellow fasters! The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

I'm such a lazy person I find it easier not to eat much. I had two nuts at breakfast time, a hazlenut and an almond. Now I've just had half a grapefruit for lunch. I'm cooking beef casserole in the slow cooker so will be able to have a bowl of that around 5 without worrying too much. That will fill me up until tomorrow. Of course I'm still drinking tea and coffee with milk, although not too much. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

Hi all
Can I join in the thread too?
This is the third week for me doing this diet and today is also a fast day for me. I have not weighed myself but I think my stomach certainly looks flatter now.
I find it easier not to eat anything on fast days until tea time. I wake in the morning and have a cup of tea then fill up on water till tea time. I find that I am ok until I eat and then my body suddenly realises that it has not had much food and I feel hungry.
This is my 5th fast day and they do get easier.0 -
Hello! Well one week in and i've lost 2lbs
I did another fast day yesterday and i've to do one tomorrow. Yesterday I had a cup of tea and a berocca at 8ish (not in the same drink!) and some melon later at around 10am, then WW soup for lunch with a yoghurt, a banana before my aerobic class around 6pm then a bowl of porridge when I got in.
Looking forward to tomorrow and weigh in again next Monday, slow and steady will do for me!0 -

Cheers. I am still doing strength exercises as well as trying to lose weight and while I have lost around 10lbs so far my waist measurement has gone down by 4" and migrated up to my real waist and not under my paunch. I reckon around another 8lbs. At least I am not where I was 10 years ago 22st10+ and very ill from the side effects of combined chemical therapy. I started because my weight was creeping up again and I was not going there again. It's not a nice place.
Got some sweet potato and I think i will have some mushrooms with it tonight., work ended up getting realy busy and that took me away from temptation. Now drinking a black coffee. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Hi
My official weigh in is tomorrow ... but after a sneaky peak today, I'm not expecting much of a loss if anything at all .... so that's only 1.5lbs in 3 weeks .... I have around 5 stone to lose, so that really isn't enough.
My fast day's are fine, I have around 490-500 cals in a 38 hr period. Maybe I'm eating too much on my up days? This week I don't feel I've been that bad (except a party on Saturday night followed by a big hungover fried breakfast).
How much do people watch what they eat on non-fast days? My TDEE is 2056 ... should I be sticking to 2056 on non fast days, or less or more or what?
Help - I'm becoming disillusioned, and I want to love this diet again especially as I'm now used to the fast days0
