OAPRUT I know just how you feel - for me to get below the 11st was a real boost! I'll be 67 in a few months & my weight too has slowed down & l'm on Thyroxine but hips are OK so far :) but like elizabunny says - just a couple of ounces a week adds up & the health benefits alone are too good to ignore. I WILL get there!

This is probably a silly question but I will ask it anyway as I am starving, I mean, confused.

Since the beginning of January I have lost a stone but my weight is stuck at just under 14 stones. I thought I would give the 5:2 a go and this is my first day. I last ate (a good meal) at around 6pm yesterday. I seldom eat after 6 anyway. So, I went through to 9am this morning with nothing and then had a cup of tea (no sugar) a little s/s milk, some porridge for lunch (all measured up - 200cals). I am making a soup for dinner, a low calorie one I found online. My question is:

Does it matter when you count your fast from? If I fancied something this evening which I probably will even though I don't normally eat after 6, will I still have done my fast day? In other words, does it matter when you start counting your 24 hours from?

I do know I can do what I want, but I would love to clarify this if I can. Thanks.

This came up a couple of pages back, most seem to go 36 hrs before eating normaly again, which I believe you need to get maximum benefit from it.
Following horizon 5-2 started 28/01/13 target where I am now ish :)
Maintaining now as DW doesn't want my legs to get any skinnier :D

I count my fast day from when I get up in the morning until I get up the following morning - so 500 calories during that whole day. I often don't feel hungry in the morning, even after a fast day, so actually have only had the 500 calories in 30ish hours. I find evenings the hardest - once I've eaten I just want to carry on eating! I just tell myself sternly I can have it tomorrow.

Nearly at the end of my 11th FD and I have a good book to read so might pop off to bed early. I really don't mind the FDs but always struggle in the evenings. I definately won't give in, but I am imagining all the nice things I could have tomorrow, except when I wake up in the morning I won't be hungry anymore:rotfl:

Hope today's fasters are all doing well, good luck for tomorrow's:T

Just enjoyed a small box of pineapple and passion fruit for dessert as my main course only came to 190 calories. Delicious. And tomorrow real coffee again woohoo!

It is my first FD today and I have had about 440 calories. I only decided to do it last night and have lived on fruit and vegetables all day with a curly wurly tonight (probably not the best idea). I have already made a bean caserole for Wednesday which will be much better (300 calories) which I will split over lunch and diner. I am going to make porridge with water and sweetener for breakfast as I don't think an apple is enough.

    Hello,

I've followed this thread with interest - seems like you are all doing so well + seeing results!

I wondered if there was anybody here who was following this plan with a very active lifestyle? I'm at drama school which means long days, lots of movement + dance classes as well as some high intensity training. I'm not overweight but i'd really like to reap the health benefits that go along with this diet as well as possibly lowering my body fat percentage a bit - however worried that i might feel a bit ill if on the go all day on only 400ish calories (i'm only 5'2 so a quarter of my daily intake wouldn't even be 500!)

    Thanks! :)
