ashleymack wrote: »Hello,
I've followed this thread with interest - seems like you are all doing so well + seeing results!
I wondered if there was anybody here who was following this plan with a very active lifestyle? I'm at drama school which means long days, lots of movement + dance classes as well as some high intensity training. I'm not overweight but i'd really like to reap the health benefits that go along with this diet as well as possibly lowering my body fat percentage a bit - however worried that i might feel a bit ill if on the go all day on only 400ish calories (i'm only 5'2 so a quarter of my daily intake wouldn't even be 500!)
Thanks!
If you're not overweight, how about trying a 6:1 regime? That should still give you some health benefits.
I wouldn't worry about how you'd feel on 400-500 kcals, as long as you eat normally (i.e. 4 times that) on regular days, and as long as you're not already exhausted/weak/rundown from your activities. If you're healthy now, the intermittent fasting should make it even better and give you more energy! However, if you have any doubts, do talk to your GP.
BTW, on my fast days I do heavy weights training or HIIT with kettlebells before my meal, and I feel strong and energetic. On the other hand, I can afford to use up a lot of calories as I'm still overweight (although going down nicely thanks to this way of eating).Cogito, ergo sum.0 -
Feel like dancing round my kitchen!!! Just weight myself and 10st 12lb!!! So happy to see a '10'. Haven't been there for about 25 years. In Jan 2012 I was 13st 3lbs so all those feeling disappointed that their loss seems very low and slow please take heart. You can get there.
Well done! :T That's a fantastic lossAt
That's the weight I started at last September. Lost some then stopped trying. When I eventually see a 10 I'll do more than dance round the kitchen you'll all hear me scream!0 -
Im just finishing my first day of 500 calories - went slightly over (think it will be about 550 including my tea milk) presumably that doesnt really matter though....
SO hungry right now - but already planned tomorrows lunch for work - so looking forward to that !!!Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -
Well I've just had my first fast night shift! Wherby I mean I worked Sunday night, slept Monday and then got up and went to work without eating. I've had my prepared at home salad at 2 and 5 but can't actually finish it all so have stuck it back in my bag now. I finish work at 8.15 and will go straight home and get tea started before I go to bed. I'll then wake at 5pm and stick tea in the oven (MiL collects kids on a Tuesday). For breakfast I shall be having cottage pie and will then have sarnies for lunch/tea.
Was just chatting to the girls and noticed that my back fat seems to have gone. There wasn't much but there was some. My tummy definitely feels flat too.
Not sure about the feeling healthier, have suddenly developed awful exzema on my hands but could be related to the new gloves at work.
DH is most definitely looking like he's lost a bit of fat around his middle. Noticed his jeans are getting a little bit baggy around the waist. Well, I got through the day. Strangely, after the soup at 5.30pm, I didn't get very hungry. Just had a cup of black Earl Grey tea. I wasn't hungry when I woke up either but I had my usual breakfast of toast and tea.
The best bit was that I weighed 13.10lbs this morning. Started this year at 14.12lbs so getting their, albeit slowly in comparison to in my youth.
Why is it that when you are on a diet, there seems to be food everywhere, on tv, magazines etc. Must be that I just notice it more.0 -
Need some support here supposed to be a fast day and I have had 338 Calories already
I am a bloke and allowed to have 600 so I can still do it. I am hoping to last till teatime then have some veg. In danger of backsliding here, normaly I am fine on fast days.

I haven't been on for a while and have let the diet slip too because a good friend has been in hospital and, sadly, died last week. After funeral etc I need to knuckle down.
I'll be back ....0 -

Aww sorry to hear your sad news x It can be really hard to keep focused on something like this when real life is being horrid isnt it x2 week 5:2=5.5lb off.0 -
Go and drink some tea/coffee/water whatever adouglasmhor. When I gave up smoking 18 years ago, when I was tempted to smoke I used to say dont let yourself down, you've done x amount of days you can get through today. Once 3 or 4 days had passed I knew I couldnt go back.
I'm on my first ever fast day, my body doesnt know whats hit it. I feel really sleepy and just a bit light headed. Have had at least 4 peppermint teas today when I felt hungry, a small bowl of home made tomato and garlic soup for 70 cals at lunchtime but seems ages till tea time and I'm so hungry.
Going to have a Quorn cottage pie for tea for 360 cals and some extra veg but need to work out the cals for that.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0
