Isn't that just eating normally?
If you want to get any real benefit out of 5:2 you need to restrict yourself to a max of 500/600 calories on your fast days.0 -

No this is more akin to the 'eat stop eat' program by Brad Pilon, that has been around for donkeys years, and is what me and my husband do every 4 days. But you don't eat - hence the stop. No 500-ish calories to worry about. We go from evening meal to evening meal (although the 2nd evening meal is slightly earlier, so we fast about 21/22 hours. Easy peasy.0 -
Did my 4th fast day yesterday, and found it the easiest yet. I think it was because we were out and about doing jobs in the evening, so I was distracted.
I have been interested to read people's thoughts on 24 hour fasting from evening to evening. IMO I don't think this will be as effective, but I am considering it for my second fast this week, as we are out with friends on Thursday night and Friday night. I am thinking about fasting from after my last meal on Thursday until dinner on Friday night. Probably 8 pm until 9 pm, I will also try to moderate what I eat on Thursday in the daytime. Or should I just move my fast to Saturday (though think I will struggle on a weekend).0 -

As I've pointed out before, this has been my my normal weekday eating pattern for more years than I can remember. It didn't stop me putting on weight so I don't actually think that the 22 hour gap really makes any difference. The overall weekly calorie intake still has to be watched. Too many and you will still put on weight.0 -
Pancakes yesterday (although with unsweetened apple) & some mix left over that DH wants tonight - groan. Never mind FD tomorrow & I'm really busy so I probably won't notice it at all (she says hopefully)Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Another fasting day today and I'm finding quite easy as I'm under the weather, and not in the mood for eating!
Good luck to everyone fasting day!0 -
hi all
I am fasting today as this weekend is a busy one.
Good luck everyone...

Still on my diet I have lost both more weight and inches so very pleased, I now eat porridge at lunchtime made with water, finding it fills me up until teatime0
