barking.. if you start now, get those 2 big 'uns on board to do their bit too.. you should be on top of it come September and it will be possible to fly through those daily lists!

Thank you for replying so quickly.

So do you think once I've tackled each zone once over the summer hols that come September each zone will be easier and more achievable in much less time?

Also, what sort of jobs do you guys pass onto the teenagers?

Presently, they both clean their rooms, empty their bins, change their bedding - weekly. My DD 13 yr old is somewhat more helpful than my 14 yr old. They both have part time jobs, but don't work daily, only 3 times a week.

    Thank you again :)

Mine do washing, ironing (their own stuff cos I won't), load dishwasher, vacuuming, mopping, helping change younger ones beds, gathering laundry, picking up toys, hanging out/bringing in washing, feeding pets, cleaning out pets, sweeping... basically annything they are capable off.. but not all of it.. I do most of it.

But when I was on top of the list it would take me an hour to complete it all most days.. if that.. the kitchen is the worst in here to keep tidy, it is forever a mess.

    That's fantastic PP!

    Is all that without nagging?!

Ok, so I need to kick some serious butt?!

It's been on my mind that I need to get them, but especially my eldest son to help more.

My daughter asked the other day if we could start doing the glass stone thing again. They get a glass stone in their pot for every job they do and when they got to a certain number of stones they used to get pocket money. The incentive went when the pocket money did!

DS2 (16) DD3 (11) and the laziest 7 year old you have ever met need nagging/butt kicking/growling at but they do all help.

the 2 y/o helps pick up toys and loads/empties washing machines TD and passes me items to fold.. but it is all on her own terms ;)

How did you get on pigpen and greent?

I mopped the kitchen floor, cleaned the lights/shades/etc in living room, stripped and replaced the sheets on my bed (including hoovering and turning the mattress) and taxed my car. So all silvers completed with the exception of my desk which is a WIP :j
Going off-list again now - another half an hour on a mammoth sorting task I've been avoiding for months!
