Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.
There are 3 levels per day with Level 1 being very basic, level 2 in the middle, up to 3 which is more advanced and time consuming. Feel free to mix and match to suit your own personal circumstances.
Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up
These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.
Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.
A few of the basics before we start the week
Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!
Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.
Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.
Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

Thanks for the new thread Dusty, I'm in again please, hoping not to be so distracted by the olympics but who knows... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Thankyou Dusty x
I've written all my 'to do's on several listys, sort of a divided up Toots list, and I'm hoping to do something from each list as that room appears on your list this week.
Got 2 loads of washing dry outside today; brought it in when it started to spit with rain, but could have left it out as the sun then reappeared heyho...never mind; it's all nicely folded on the airer now, so I won't have to nip out between races :-)
Wishing everyone a good evening xxIT ONLY TAKES SMALL DAILY ACTIONSFOR MAGIC TO HAPPENRosemary Ikpeme0 -
Thanks for the new list, Dustykitten. I don't think the last Extra will be too difficult to achieve.
;-)
I really will have to go for Gold this week - flying *our* way is the only discipline in which I have the slightest chance!0 -
Loving it, going all out for gold this week, been training hard lol x
My extras this week:
Clear garage of doom. Requires a hhc most days I think.
Tackle mount washmore.
Find out what the beeping is. Driving me nutty.
Stop eating. Everything.
Stop spending.
Choose the last of the photos for the scrapbook.
Put together my new cabinet when it arrives!Bossymoo

Thanks for the lists Dusty. There is no shame in a bronze medal, so I will achieve at least that
My priorities this week are :
packing
checking what everyone else has packed (esp. how many shoes DD2 has!)
order & collect currency
opticians on Tuesday
phone dentist for emergency appointment
visit new childminder to check paperwork
paperwork - planning, learning journeys & SEF
probably re-pack a few times
oh, and work0 -
Thanks Dusty!
I will get the lists done this week, minus the extras - might do them next weekend. I'm still having a mammoth washing session of stuff here. Had to stop today, it got too hot and humid in the house. I'm going to start listing things to sell as well so I can raise some funds for some things for the house.
Kitchen shouldn't take me long, and I have to wait in for a delivery anyway. I also need to drag, or to be honest, push DD up to Mr A for slippers (she's in a 5/6 shoes & was trying to wear a 3/4 slipper insisting they still fit her :rotfl: ), then I think I have her cousin for a sleepover so I'll banish them upstairs with the Glee DVDs and hope they don't spill nailvarnish on the carpet again!
Mon: Delivery, sleepover
Tue:
Wed: Delivery - Work, Cards to put out.
Thur:
Fri:
Sat: DD out all day with Ex (must remember to give her the birthday card for her uncle), Deliveries
Sun: Early night (hospital 9am Mon!)
Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
Bronze
Clear those hotspots
Empty the bin and wash if required
Silver
Hoover and mop floors
Shine your sinks
Gold
Wipe the sides
Clean WM filters
Wipe out the fridge, use up where required
Going to make DD a reward chart for this week, and keep it hidden in my diary until Tuesday when her cousin has gone. I need to get DD doing her violin practice again, getting up at a decent time (11am is not decent when she'll have to be out the house daily by 8am in a few weeks:eek:) and keeping her room tidy.
Right, I'm off to vacuum pack some quilts out of the way and I might just vacuum pack some of the clothes that are to be sold, so I can concentrate on getting the other things out the way first!I will reclaim my bedroom before September!
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

Ooh greent which balance bike are you going for? I was thinking of getting them for the kids for Christmas but not sure where to start...Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Three of my friends have the same balance bike (and I've seen it around a lot, too) (blue and yellow, no idea of make!), so I'm going to try and find out what it is/ how much it is. Failing that I'm thinking of this one: http://www.balancebike.co.uk/balance-bike-product.php?fifty-blue-balance-bike DS3 is just 3 but titchy (just growing out of 12-18m clothes) so another alternative is the £28 one at Tesco Direct (has a poor review for being very small
