  • Well Just got weighed and I think I have lost 1lb. I checkly got weighed last night before bed and I had lost 1lb which I was pleased with thinking by this morning I would be lighter but I wasn't which I don't understand. Must look on the bright side 1lb is better then none. Any ideas on how I can cut down the snacking between meals. I was thinking of increaseing to 6 meals a day but what kind of things should I eat for the extra 2. Should it be fruit, or can I have toast. I'm not following a diet just counting the calories, trying to keep them to less then 1300 which should allow me to lose 2lb a week. Want to lose 1/2 stone so my clothes fit again.

    Hi all

I'm a newbie from the DFW side of the pond - must admit I was bit intimidated by the size of this thread, especially when it was merged. Anyway, just thought I'd wave hello and hopefully join.

I'm currently 16 st 1 - last Summer I had slimmed to 14 st 8, mostly through starvation. Unsurprisingly, it's all back on. 16 st 7 is the heaviest I've ever been, and I don't really want to go back there again. I read on here earlier that someone is saving the money that they would be spending on a slimming club? Great idea - I'm going to start putting aside £5 a week.

So anyway, that's me. Start weight 16 st 1  . Fingers crossed, a couple of pounds lighter next week.

    welcome bindiboo and nekozombie

suggs, a few members of the DFW board started a lose weight thread and got merged with us. It happened with an OS thread recently too if i remember correctly. glad u can just wear a white shirt and everyone else will too by the way. xx

it's a shame some people feel intimidated by the large thread and decide to leave, I felt a bit like that when i joined but surely the more the merrier right?? (tho i still have trouble keeping up with who's who i'm doing my best!)
plus more members=more support and advice!

working hard today, just popped in to say hi and good luck weighing in today everyone!!! :)

....Have eaten my body weight in fruit and veg today (not on purpose, it just happened that way!) but still feel a bit "picky" if you know what I mean.
Have walked the dog and had a big pint of squash to see if it was boredom/thirst but the pangs are still there.
Does anyone else have the urge to eat when there's really no need? ......Take care

I know exactly how you feel. I love fruit but despite it's bulk it doesn't always 'satisfy', and when I have those moments of wanting to pick even when I know I can't posssibly be hungry, I find it best to have something 'protein'. I keep packs of wafer thin ham in the fridge and help myself to a couple of slices at such times, I also find that an 'Options' drink helps if the nibbleys attack me later in the evenings.

Thankfully this doesn't happen to me too often and I find keeping my mind occupied on anything but eating usually helps.

Hope this is of some help.

LIDL`s are selling the *options* hot chocolate tubs for £1.49,I`ve only seen the chocky mint flavour though.

At only 40 calories a cup they are great when you feel like chocky or something to take that sweet cravings away.

Or if your like me ran out of blooming tea bags!

Hi Everyone (with the exceptions of Lois and Eri :rotfl: )

For freebie, rach! and katmad just remember that a maintain is better than a gain. Hopefully you'll have better results next week ;)

juststarting Well done on losing 1lb :T To help stop snacking try drinking lots of water - I've found that I like sparkling mineral water (my DD says that if you're going to drink water you may as well make it as interesting as possible) and if I'm really reckless I sometimes add a slice of lemon; also as I said a couple of posts back keep your mind occupied on anything but food - I know it's sometimes easier said than done. :o

welcomesp2.gifNekoZombie I'm glad to see that some of the DFWs are venturing over. I understand that other threads can seem scary, I think that DFW is because when I went in there once, someone was really being slated for something, by other posters, and that the board guide (or whoever) had to intervene. It quite put me off..... Anyway, never ever starve yourself to lose weight. Just take your time. By starving yourself you will quickly lose motivation and become so hungry that you will binge on anything and everything and put it all back on just as quickly. There are numerous plans available, SW, WW calorie counting etc and there should be one that will suit you, there are also numerous sites on the internet that are helpful. googleisyourfriendms5.gifIf that all fails then we have a biting boot and smacked bottoms available for those who need them:D
