Some of our members wish to support the group and not critise!!
If you are not prepared to contact the Mods of comment in the cafe group, then your opinion is not taken seriously.
Why hide if you have a valid opinion?
Tamsin.
Yet you still havent told me where the admin post about manners is? Im long past caring whether my opinion is taken seriously or not.
You seem to be taking this very personally I have to say. Like I stated earlier members of freecycle groups all over the country have posted to this thread over the weeks and the only moderator to take issue is you.0 -

But please do not blame me for being dissilusioned when I have waited in all day for someone to call that never did, when I have put items as taken for people that never reply to me again, when I have handed £200 worth of computer to someone who couldnt even say thank you, when I have had emails from members asking me "not to bother" posting items as they will take whatever I have directly.
Surely even you can see how this would be very annoying.0 -
Maybe it's your technique?
Ah yes, that would be it wouldnt it. My cheerful replies of "the item is yours, let me know when you would like to collect and Ill make arrangements" do tend to put folk off dont they?
Maybe its the way I shake their hands and invite them into my home before handing them their Free item that makes them mutter the odd word and leave?
Maybe its the way I expect a thank you?0 -

BUT, sadly, you are so wrong !
I live about a mile away from a place where HUNDREDS of TVs, PCs, Fridges, Freezers, Washing Machines, Vacuum Cleaners are dumped EVERY month.
I've taken away on several occasions for a nominal fee (£1 to £5 per item) several TVs & PCs (including scanners & printers), many vacuum cleaners, a few fridges & freezers and a couple of washing machines.
Over half of them worked perfectly without any intervention from me, others needed CLEANING - the number of vacuums that had a sock/small toy/button/lego brick or chunk of plaster stuck in it is unbelieveable.
Similarly washing machines with something stuck in the pump !
A huge widescreen TV need a fuse replacing.
All fixed in 5 minutes with nothing more than a screwdriver.
When I've been there myself dumping garden waste etc., I've asked people that I've seen unloading about the things they are dumping. Once there was a matching pair (which is an immediate giveaway) 6 foot tall fridge & freezer (unlikely both failed together) "What's wrong with them mate?" "Nothing" is the reply " but they are over 3 years old (WOW !!!) and we decided to we would like silver ones instead of white."
Each 14 cu ft, unmarked, all the drawers, shelves, plastics, drinks cooler, even the egg tray and ice cube makers.
In that instance I went straight over to the site office to see "the man" - handed over a tenner, he "saved them for me" until I returned with my trailer and took them home. Still working perfectly and that was over 5 years ago. There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

It's not my problem if you can not read the admin posts properly!
How can the mods be held responsible for members manners when they are not informed?
Maybe other moderators have not read the thread?
Yet you still keep your ID a secret? I wonder why?

I QUOTED the admin posts. Didnt mention manners in it at all did it? Did you not read MY thread?
I really think you are making a huge mountain out of a lighthearted molehill here. And from supportive PM's I have recieved from other members of the group they seem to agree with what Im saying.
Lets just agree to disagree and let this thread get back to what it was intended for.0 -
