I know for one that I wouldn't be very happy if I felt the need to ask for something and then someone was copying and pasting it on a forum where it would be ridiculed by people who have nothing to do with the freecycle group to which I belonged.
if we have nothing to do with your freecycle group we wont see your posts, and it's not so much what you ask for it's how you ask for it.0 -
If I had an issue I would take it up on the cafe group. My only issue is with the group being quoted and painted in a bad light. Has this person bothered to mention all the good that the group does? no they just mock and sound bitter that they have not gained more than they have given.0

Have the courage of your own convictions to take your criticisms to the open forum of the cafe group - surrounded by those you are taking a lot of time here to speak down upon.
Yes - this has happened in two of the groups I belong to and in both there was quite a strong feeling that there were too many people taking the mickey and in one it did result in a mod doing a u turn on the subject and sending out an admin post advising that due to dissatisfaction within the membership from then on only 2 (or it may have been 3) wanted's a month would be allowed from any one member.Hate and I do mean Hate my apple Mac Computer - wish I'd never bought the thing
Do little and often
Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying :mad:0 -

I have spoken to the mods in the past. Nothing changes. I have NEVER seen a mod post asking for basic manners which a lot of groups seem to have posted regularly. I dont feel the need to visit the cafe group.
And nobody is speaking down to anyone, just asking for some manners and some thanks for the things they have been given. After my last clearout I swore that anything I had to get rid of would now go to a charity shop where at least they could say "Thank you" on receiving it rather than grunting.0 -

But you are missing the whole point of this thread. Its a humourous look at the posts on freecycle. There is the odd heartwarming post on here (I posted one myself earlier this week) but people read this thread because its funny.0 -

the mods on the four groups that i belong to do a bloody good job and prevent as many issues as they can. they are also hot at dealing with emails sent to them.0 -

Did you not read the admin post sent this evening then?0 -
that is the normal rules for the group. It is only wishlist wednesday (once a month) that you are allowed to post a list of wants. I personally would not ask for a car or high value items but as I have said what is one mans trash is another mans treasure. Nobody can judge peoples need however and a person might never ask for anything but a car and really need it and if someone has one just rotting away then how can you say it's wrong to recycle it?0
