  • Well, our group holds what it calls "Wishlist Wednesday" on the last wednesday of the month, where you are allowed to post a wanted.

This seems to bring out every ill mannered idiot that has ever subscribed, but oddly never posted an offer.

This may turn out to be long, but some of todays gems include:

    Nothing specific then?

I have come to the conclusion nobody in Stoke sells white drawers..

XBox and 2 Portable TV's? Are we aiming to play the XBox in 3D then????

Im surprised you arent asking for the playstation as well, but what is it with Kids and TV's in their rooms today? Sympathy perhaps that your poor hard done to child doesnt have its own TV?

Get motivated. Or join a Gym.

I have a dishwasher, he answers to Steve. And perhaps you would have more luck with Mondeo wheels as I believe a mondao is a type of circus, therefore large caravan wheels will not fit.

Buy him the camcorder, he will be so grateful he will wash your dishes while you sit and relax on your new office chair purchased from Argos for £20.

Is it a coincidence that you retired and all your timepieces stopped

Ahh, so I bet you expected Phil to drop everything and deliver did you?

And the seat is designed to have a crack on it...

How many people do you want to seat in your garden? 2 chairs can seat 4 people if 2 sit on your knee....

I could go on, there are over 100 of these gems today. Ill return with more later :D

    Thanks for that!!

Have you posted a wishlist today?

If you have an issue with Wishlist wednesday, please feel free to contact the moderators of comment on the cafe group. Are you a member of the cafe group?

The idea of Wishlist wednesday is to get members to dig out items they had forgotten about and encourage activity on the group.

Please feel free to contact the moderators to discuss, instead of slating the group on other forums!!

Oddly enough I didnt feel the need to ask for X Box's, TWO Portable TV's and Nintendo DS's today. Unlike a great deal of this particular groups members I dont feel the need to abuse people's generosity.
  • As I stated, maybe you would like to join the cafe group and give your comments on there?

Did you complete the recent members poll that we held recently?

Maybe some people on the group aren't as fortunate as you?

I personally have given a computer, laptop, bench vice, TV, hair dryer etc, how active a giver are you on the group?

Or are you just a lurker that will critise when you think people won't see?

Actually Ive given over 40 items since I joined. I have taken just 2. And yes, I vote in the polls and make it known that I dont like being taken for a mug. I dont like seeing people post wanteds for 80's toys knowing full well they are headed for ebay within the month. I especially detest that of the 40 or so items I have given I have actually been thanked TWICE.

People need to learn basic manners before joining this group, learn to ask for reasonable items and above all be grateful when they get them. If wanting people to used manners makes me critical then so be it.
  • As stated, if you have an issue with the running of the group, please comment on the cafe group or contact the moderators. Unless you want your ID to be kept a secret?

This thread is 90 pages long, every page contains laughable moments from freecycle groups countrywide, yet you are the one and only moderator from any group to complain.

    Why is that?
  • As you feel the need to ridicule one group and not make yourself known, do you not have the courage of you convictions?

I, and the other moderators on our group work very hard to keep items out of landfill and appreciate feedback from members.

Which Is why I am so annoyed that you are critising the group on another forum, when you have not contacted the moderators or made any comment on the cafe group.

I dont feel the need to make comment in the cafe group. I have also worked hard to keep items out of landfill, without the need to ask for ridiculous items on the way! I also worked hard to actually make the effort to THANK the 2 people that gave me something. Maybe adding a rule about basic manners is the way to go eh?

Nobody is criticising the group or anyone directly, this thread is a lighthearted look at the amazingly hopeful and hilariously funny things people post to freecycle.

In fact, the only time I have directly criticised the group is when one of your own moderators repeatedly failed to collect an item from me no less than FIVE times before they stopped contacting me altogether.

This thread is not about you, or the group. It is lighthearted, and in the interests of keeping it this way I will not get into an argument with you over a particular group's administration.

!!!!!!, wise up. how many people come on this thread and post about stupid wants and ignorant or ill mannered people.
how many mods send out emails about the number and type of wanted requests, the use of manners, I know mine do.
