    good for you pulliptears!
    Well said
  • 2) Respect your Fellow Freecycle Members.

As stated in the admin post earlier this evening, all members are required to be polite to each other. Obviously the modarators can not moniter this, unless we are informed.

Your earlier posts were not lighthearted, they critised the running of the group and ridiculed the posts made by other members.

Please feel free to contact me off list, as I am not prepared to discuss this matter any further.

The first rule of Freecycle is - you do not talk about Freecycle. The second rule of Freecycle is - you DO NOT talk about Freecycle. :rotfl:

the majority of posts on this thread are about people who attempt to take advantage of the generosity of others not criticisms of the concept of freecycle, the way it is run or any of the moderators

You openly deride and mock those less fortunate, more needy or less educated than yourself, and mention principles in the same phrase?!

to openly quote and mock people on a group is hardly good manners now is it?
  • If you have an issue with your local group, surely you should contact the moderators and not critisise the group elsewhere?

Or, If you do, surely you should not hide your ID?

The posts to the group today are ALL for items that are likely to end up in landfill, where's the problem?

Mock those less fortunate? Such as the person recently offered a digital camera after posting a wanted? So less fortunate that they couldnt get on a bus to collect it? Good lord had that been me Id have walked to collect it!!

And those "less fortunate" folk you talk about, do manners not apply to them? Im in no way talking about the entire membership here, but the majority of these "less fortunates" cant even say thank you let alone post it to the group.

Ive struggled to make ends meet in the past, and believe me if someone has offered me something to make my life a little easier I couldnt thank them enough.

Do these less fortunates really NEED XBox's? Nintendo's? Playstation games? If they were desperately looking for clothes and furniture rather than high end electronics I may be inclined to have a little more sympathy for them.
