I hope they release more tickets for the orbit :)

Your wish has been granted....I'm in the 'don't like' camp though, have to be honest! Looks like a helter skelter, do they give you a mat at the top!

They were urging people on the news tonight to buy the remaining 400,000 tickets but they must be for the Excel as that's the only ones currently on sale...

There were some on sale earlier today but you do have to have a ticket for access to the grounds or an event ticket as well.

We've just come back from one of the athletic events. We too are from the north west. Here is what we did:- used the travelodge in North Weald Harlow (car park free - little chef shares it)-taxi (about 5 minutes £10)to Epping underground (first stop on central line) then about 30-40 minutes to Stratford. And repeat on way back.
At Theydon Bois (station after Epping) there was a massive camp site that you could park on (think you can book online carparks.co.uk or something like that! £8 all day) So you could stay in a travelodge in that area (or guest house) and then park up there for the day.

Thank you for all that, it is most helpful
Dont you just love freshly congealed pigs blood, with a bit of fat in :D

The Excel travelodge does have a carpark..it's not massive though so it might be worth calling them to see if you need to book a space or not...nice hotel and right by the DLR too.

I read in the Metro that you are supposed to get a travelcard with the Para tickets too but I didn't get anything - seems a bit generous given tickets start at £5 - wondered if anyone with paper tickets (I did print at home) got anything different?

My work mates are calling it the 'Olympics for Londoners' as everyone we know in London seems to have tickets - all the cynics who didn't apply for tickets to the Olympics, or couldn't get them and we are finally getting a chance to see what we all paid for....

I can't wait! I've even got all geeky and started collecting the stamps! :rotfl:Managed to borrow a pair of binoculars :money:so keeping it as cheap as possible.

You get travel cards if you pay £6 for delivery. But not for print at home.

yep, me too, paid for postage for both my sets of Paralympics tickets, and got travelcards for each person for each session included when the tickets arrived at my home address.

If you opt to print at home you can collect your travelcards at a box office either on the day or before hand if the box offices are open, I know the Stratford one should be open already. Although you'd still need to pay for a single if you didn't pick them up until the day.
