Yes, you make a good point. Plus people are less likely to be taking holidays at this time, like they are duing August.
A lot of central London employers have been letting staff work at home during the Olympics. The view for the Paralympics seems to be that it will be fine (at my work at least there is a 'wait and see' approach - word is that they expect half the amount of visitors as there are for the Olympics), so in some ways, I actually think this period may be even busier....be we'll see!
I'm keeping an eye on tickets still as my sister wants to go now! It's a shame you can 'tdo a search excluding that awful ORBIT experience/eyesore!Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
The website is an absolute joke. You get different results in different browsers, for God's sake!0

The papers are reporting loads more paralympic tickets will be on sale next week. Why they do the sales like this, who knows.
I got my ticket by stalking the website. I work at my PC anyway so had the window open and obsessively checked it. The most annoying thing is how quicky it logs you out so you have to get through that stupid letter check thing which I'm rubbish at. I heard there are programes you can get to auto refresh - anyone know about this?

I'm sure they will release more once they work out the different staging needed. But then, if they'd released them all at once, they'd have all gone and everyone who only decided at the last minute they were interested, would be out of luck. Locog can't win...:rotfl:0

They have been releasing more tickets each day but the website is now just like it was for the Olympics - i.e. totally useless, tickets gone as soon as they appear, won't even let you add to basket, won't let you search even when in the basket...trying to get a day pass for my sister is not proving to be easy.Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!

This really surprises me in that I've bought 2 sets of Excel daypasses in the last couple of days (one was this morning :j) and it's been no trouble at all. Or did you mean an Olympic Park pass which do seem to be sold out?0 -
Trying to get equestrian for my horse mad sister!!Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!

Just out of curiosity, do you think that staying at the Ibis at Wembley is a wise decision?
I dont know the area at all but I believe that puiblic parking, albeit payable, is readily available?... and the room is cheap
We've just come back from one of the athletic events. We too are from the north west. Here is what we did:- used the travelodge in North Weald Harlow (car park free - little chef shares it)-taxi (about 5 minutes £10)to Epping underground (first stop on central line) then about 30-40 minutes to Stratford. And repeat on way back.
At Theydon Bois (station after Epping) there was a massive camp site that you could park on (think you can book online carparks.co.uk or something like that! £8 all day) So you could stay in a travelodge in that area (or guest house) and then park up there for the day.

I have looked at 2 hotels so far....the Premier inn at Enfield (looks like plenty of parking there) and the Excel travelodge (not too sure re their parking arrangements, the website is quite vague).
I do realise that the Enfield one would involve a bit more travel than the Excel one.
Anyone any better ideas?
All suggestions gratefully received
The Excel travelodge does have a carpark..it's not massive though so it might be worth calling them to see if you need to book a space or not...nice hotel and right by the DLR too.PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
Now to start saving...it's a whole new world!!0 -
I hope they release more tickets for the orbit0
