even without the 1% bonus taxbeater isa is close to a best buy, hardly worth transferring for what would be at current rates 0.18% against KRBS, if barclays keep passing on rate changes in full and other providers dont than tax beater isa could be a virtual best buy in 12 months time.

once accounts are open are their still customer services issues

No - have been excellent with mine!

I had trouble actually opening the ISA, and they gave me £25 due to making a complaint as a "sorry" jesture. But since then they've been great!

Only problem is you can't transfer money to it directly from Barclays online. However I mainly bank with HSBC and just transfer my money into the account from there.
    Mortgage as Sept 2012: £96,000
    Mortgage free: When i'm 39 / Sept 2023

    Mortgage repayment = £588
Tracker Rate 1.99% above base: 2.49%

I'm sorry I didn't write it in blood but it makes a mess of the keyboard.

Please accept my humble apologies......... We're all happy bunnies, indeed.....
I'm sure, we'll see it online, somewhere, very soon..
They don't update the staff either, it would appear 26th July...

I'll let you know when they finally let me know that my account is actually open and earning money! Four and a half months with no notice at all so far. I even asked for a receipt on the day I handed in my forms and was refused one by the staff member, so if all goes really wrong I'm obviously going to be less than happy at them wasting my time like this.

Anybody got a link that enables us, the great unwashed, to view this fabulous increased interest rate...?

(Cos Barclays website still states 6.56%...)
Expect the worst & hope for the best...

webpages dont usually ( although sometimes do) change until date change in rates take effect from, partly not wholly due to possibillity that other rate changes may or may not have been finalised.

In order to check your Tax Beater ISA online you need to open a Barclays current account (that comes with a Connect or Electron debit card). This qualifies you to register for their online banking service. A friend of mine recently opened a Barclays current account with £1 in order to view his Tax Beater ISA online.

Thanks Kazza, that makes good sense.
