It seems to me that most temp jobs want admin tasks doing and that normally involves WPM skills.:beer:0 -
Phil, this is the second thread you have started asking for advice on this job that you want to apply for.
We cannot apply for you and get the job for you. We have already said all that can be said and you are just asking the same thing in different wording. Is it because you don't understand us, or because you think you can trick us into producing the magic job for you?
It's not working. Now get off the computer for a while, concentrate on your studies, revise, get your head around someting, and do something constructive for yourself, because in here all you are doing is irritate people. Constructive that ain't.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
require recent office experience then......
can I just say I have recent office experience......
I'm going to ask another question in the hope you will read my vieled attempt at directing you towards applying for a job that perhaps utilises your SKILLS...
the job you phoned in for......was it for an accounts assistant? No in your skills area again........you need to gain either more experience or go to your careers advisor and let them point you in the right direction.
In all honesty sp I wouldn't give you a go. If I bother to advertise a job stating needs recent office experiece (or insert whatever job) thats what will keep your cv on the table. If no experience on cv you will be filed in the B tray.
Go to your careers advisor on campus, they will put you on the right path for either applying for the correct jobs or gaining worthwhile experience.
I went to the careers advisor and all she talked about was when to declare I was disabled and gave me a load of booklets on jobs that are not even available in my area or are jobs that might be in a text book but never come up hardly ever-- so I felt rather disappointed by that.:beer:0 -
even if you do have experience doesn't mean you'll get the job, i applied for and was interviewed for a money advice post..... i have two and a half years of experience. i didn't get the job. someone with more experience got it. thats the way the world works, its not the end of the world and i didn't set my heart on it either ( actually turned out better for me i didn't )
take panda's advice (although i know i just wasted those pixels typing that !) and go see an advisor who can point you in right directionmustn't grumble :cool:0 -
I can see that really getting a job at a university is not a good thing as I will never want to leave and I will probably end up working there for years. If I get a job else where then I will be more driven to improve myself and progress my career.:beer:0

We all know you well enough to know you will always find an excuse not to do everything and you have just told us your excuse for not giving this one a a go."Life is like a game of cards. I'm pretty much the same when recruiting, although I do assess if there are transferable skills which can be bolstered with industry-specific experience when they join us. If they're complete beginners in our field AND to the workplace in general, then everyone would lose out if they came to work for us; we wouldn't get the work done and they'd be unhappy.I am not stubborn. I am merely correct.0 -
