This country is called Great Britain. It would be called Amazing Britain if it wasn't for people like you pulling the average down

    give it a break Phil.
The number of applications depends on how suited they are to the job and if they impress the potential employer. No averages, no set number no nothing..

subject over.. shame it's not you being talked about in another thread.

I find 8 to be a nice round figure.

What difference does it make, its an open ended question Phil. If you spent time actually picking them up and filling them out instead of sitting on here asking ridiculous questions, You may actually be able to work it out for yourself. This is a moneysaving site not a Phils instant helpline. I bet google can`t even come up with answers for some of your questions. The sun is shining, its a lovely day. Go and sit in the park or something and sort out what you are going to do with your life next. Get off the pc and do something

ok, i'll give you a serious answer. 1! but that's on condition you're suitable for the job and impress at your interview.
Does that answer help you or would you prefered i said 2 or 3 or 12 or 81? or do you want everybody to tell you how many applictions they made and think it' going to give you the correct figure?
