The upgrade buttons are no longer purple they used to be but they are now green.

I have 3 4% accounts (all with money in) and the upgrade button on the front page always goes to the error message "there is a problem"

My OH has 3 accounts 2 of them with money in 1 with nil. They were all set up as 4% in the branch actually 1 was over the phone the other 2 were in the branch. only the 2 with money in show the error message the one with nil balance goes on to show the virtues of a silver account. They were done at the same time in the branch so it has nothing to do with timescales, it is simply that the 3rd account has not been set to 4%, whether that has something to do with the nil balance or not I do not know, but we will get it fixed eventually.

The upgrade buttons are now purple again.

And the balance on OH 3rd account is 16p, and I transferred £400 in today which won't clear until Monday....however, I still got the error message when pressing the upgrade button on accounts 1 & 2 but not on account 3.

So we just set about getting it fixed this morning. We got throough to the first call centre who looking at her notes said
"all 3 accounts were upgraded and you only get the 4% on balances over £5000"

"Yes I know that, but I can tell online that the offer has not been applied to the 3rd account"

"It has been applied, I can see it here all 3 have the offer applied" (she can see a note that says they were upgraded)

"I'll let you speak to my partner"

Then I tell her about the online technical error trick which shows us that the 3rd account is not done.....She says "I don't know what I can do for you, would you like to be put through to vantage dept and have them re-apply the offer"...... "Yes that's exactly what I would like"

I hand the phone back to OH

So she gets through to vantage dept, and we start again
"All three accounts have already got the offer applied"
"Yes but when we click upgrade we do not get the error message on the 3rd account we are offered a silver upgrade, this means it has not been applied"

"Ok, I'll double check.......Oh, it hasn't been done!"
    (finally we are getting somewhere)

She apologised for it not having been applied and did it straight away.

5 mins later online the upgrade button on the 3rd account is now showing the error message regardless of it's cleared balance being 16p

Make sure you check all of yours.

Its a good job this 'glitch' is actually there then, otherwise we'd have staff saying "Its definitely there", then getting 3% interest on 5K, complaining next month and them saying "The computer won't allow us to add it now, it needed to be done before November".

I checked mine as soon as I came off the phone and all three gave the error, so I transferred funds.

Thanks must go to whoever found this glitch, I forget who it was now. Another MSE-exclusive :)

    Hi
Can aynone confirm if paypal counts as one of the direct debits? Even if money is not regularly debited from it?

If I can just add a paypal DD, it'll probably be easier than opening a Tesco account.
    YES, Yes
    &
Yes, it will be much easier than opening a Tesco account but your paypal will only be 1 of your required 2 DD for each of your vantage accounts.

The charity Friends of the Earth was also able and willing to set up multiple DD, still taking the same monthly amount just dived between the different accounts.

Well really these threads are there for you to read through and if you do so you will find the answers that you're looking for readily.

I think that's a really unhelpful reply. This thread has over 800 posts, the user might have their settings set to 10 posts per page. It is wrong to tell people to crawl through this thread to find the answers themselves. Why write a reply that is 26 words long when you could have answered the question with one word "yes" ? I don't agree that "the answer could be found readily" in amongst 800 posts and especially not if like me your computer takes some time to turn each page and open up all the information on the page.

Yes, and that's assuming the people will be checking with a calculator whether they are getting 4% or 3% in the next 2 months. Otherwise they might go the whole year without checking. Really very poor of Lloyds not to put the interest rate on the statement....they should put

    Interest at 4% £12.00

I have been in branch which they confirmed there that my accounts had been upgraded to the 4% interest and I received two separate account packs through the post about welcome to vantage although I already had vantage on each account.

Both have the blue/purple upgrade button on the online banking which go straight to an error message when you click them

I take it then that they both have been upgraded?

It's not being unhelpful. The question posed had been posed umpteen times and people had gone to the trouble of answering it, umpteen times. These threads have a search facility, specifically created to make it somewhat easier to hone in to what you want to find. There is nothing unreasonable about expecting people to try. As somebody else pointed out, the reason that the thread is 800+ posts long is in part due to the same point being answered, and with the same resolution, umpteen times.

The reason it is 800 posts long is because it is a hot topic, it is to be expected. You added yet another post to it and didn't even answer them, you would have been better just not replying. 5 posts later someone did answer their question, because you had not.

People may not be able to use the search facility -they may not have the know-how and you did not make the user aware of the "search this thread" link. You said they should "read through the thread" over 800 posts 80 pages, with a slow computer do you realise how long that would take?

If you insist on thinking that you have done no wrong and will continue to reply in this way, then at least have the decency to inform them of the "search this thread" link and show them how easy (allegedly) it is to use.... with a link to the search results..... then, atleast, you will know for yourself how helpful, or not, your advice has been.

As you can see I only got 3 results, one of which does answer the question - sort of.
