I went into a branch yesterday to switch over some DDs. The customer service rep (who I think was the branch manager actually)

It seems that all the branch staff have fancy titles, probably to impress the customer sitting on the other side of the desk.

How senior they are is probably very hard for anyone not working in the bank to guess, it's clever marketing making you feel important enough to be discussing it with a senior branch member or Bank Manager.
He also said there was talk about the offer period being extended.

That's good news though I doubt we'll hear anything until nearer the expiry date of the offer next year.

Just a quick one, if you're registering for online banking with Tesco, you'll need to call their Online Help Centre on 0845 300 3511 and ask for a temporary security number.
Not for the internet saver it seems, after registering, I was asked to register for the online part and then that was it, I was in with no phone call and no letter. Literally within 5 minutes of starting the application I was sitting at the online banking showing my balance of £1.

This 'ere Welcome pack that is being sent out, is there anything interesting in it that I ought to know besides 2 D.D.s and and £Ik/month deposit ? I haven't been sent one although I know I've been upgraded because I formally complained and gained the equivalent of a couple of months interest in compo for the post traumatic stress disorder which I suffered as a result of thier bungling incompetance.
Sorry forgot to mention the £6k balance so I decided to edit this post rather than replying and making this thread even longer, (see post 865).

No, that's about it, except that you need to ensure that your balance is between 5 & 6k in order to attract the 4% rate.

I've opened an account yesterday on the phone-no problem.

Was told I can only open one every 24 hrs.

Just tried to open another one on the phone. Made the mistake of saying I was a customer but becasue she couldn't find my account (not setup yet) she would NOT let me open another.

Should I ring back and say I don't have an account or do I have to wait until the new one is in their system?

Find this process ludicrous TBHO-Why not let one account have a max of £18K at 4% instead of having to set up three separate ones :(

I expect he just meant that they might extend the deadline for signing up.

As for when it ends, there'll be a Lloyds answer and a TSB answer, because they'll be managed separately by then (both still owned by LBG, but not for much longer).

It remains to be seen how soon they'll open hostilities. You can't really sell customers without goodwill, and yet it's supposed to be about competition. Quite a poser for the regulator.

But TSB is going to have to be very careful not to start its new life by peeing off its customers.

I've opened up 6 of these for the family and the process for each was different.
    1. For some it went soomethly and I could open the account and online banking, setup second account and all direct debits all in one go online.
    2. For one other I got the account details only but couldn't set up online banking, direct debit was setup though and I received confirmation letter.
    3. For another I didn't even get account details, no direct debit setup and no letter recieved.
For 2&3 just phone them up and they will give you a temporay security code to setup online banking. They might setup some security questions/numbers on the phone or let you do it online. Once you setup the direct debits it takes around 3-4days to see them in Lloyds.

Stay in credit. No interest for the whole month if you go overdrawn at all.
