    I've not had much to do with DDs, why might it not go on 25th?
    Weekends and bank holidays it'll go the next working day. Arrivals Monday to Friday. Departure early same day usually. For a Monday DD I wouldn't like to swear offhand that it doesn't disappear on Saturday, doesn't make much difference as it would still be dated Monday.

    Not clear whether Tesco consider themselves bound to take payments on schedule or whether they might allow themselves to be late if it suits them. They might not think it's critical.

    See above picture.

    Does this mean that I have set up all the D/Ds to all the accounts? So confusing, especially when you cant even hear yourself think!#

    edit: The only problem I can see with this so far, is that because none of the payments are going out until 01/11/2012 (Soonest I can do it for) is that the direct debits wont show up on my lloyds account which means that I wont be eligible for the 4% vantage to 6k ?

    Can anyone let me know how this will work? If I go into the branch now, will i look like a wally if I tell them I have set up all the Direct Debits cos they wont show up on my lloyds account until they are first paid, and they wont be paid until the 1st which means I cant get this account?!

    Too many customers!

    Can't advertise 4% and get away with it.

    Looks good. Tesco now send BACS messages to Lloyds to pass on your instructions to Lloyds to set up the mandates at their end. These mandates should show up on the Direct Debits tab in your Lloyds accounts in a day or two, without waiting for an actual payment.

    We think that should do it - they can't expect to see payments because they haven't allowed enough time. But for extra confidence you can try manual one-off payments.

    Tesco work on a 10-day timescale when they don't know how long it'll take at the Lloyds end. When they get a confirmation that the mandates are in place, they can take a DD in 2 days. So you may be able to do one-offs on Friday or Monday that will happen by Wednesday.

  • I wonder how many Tesco DD's Lloyds are getting, they must have stacks lol

    On a good note Tesco took all 8 of mine today :D
  • When I rang and registered my accounts the only real stipulation mentioned was that the DDs had to be to different companies.

    Just a thought.

    Personally I have gone for PayPal on each A/C with EoN, BT & M&S Credit Card (all DDs changed online).

    Anyway I hope it works for all of us!

    I definitely got 4% on £5000 per A/C last month.

    LOL, this is a new one for the red herring collection.

    There is nothing whatsoever in the 4% Vantage terms that says the DDs must be for different companies.

    Not surprising then that at least 2 accounts (mine), with both their DDs with the same company, have received interest at 4% AER for September.

    You can set up 3 DD from a single paypal account

    V1 = PPDD1
    V2 = PPDD2
    V3 = PPDD3

    Though you can't set up PPDD2 & PPDD3 until you have set up & verified PPDD1

    So if you started now you would not get them all finished in time for the cut off 31/10/2012 you'd be lucky to get the first one set up.....but there is talk of this deadline being extended.

    You can get DD from your
    TV license
    Council tax
    Phone
    Water
    electricity
    gas
    credit card(s)
    You could subscribe to friends of the earth £5 a month they will let you have 2 X £2.50 DD, probably let youhave 3 x £2 DD
    magazine subscription

    DD will show up as active in your Vantage account after they are set up, NOT when they are first paid. Just check in the Direct Debit section and when they appear on the list, you have valid DDs.
