New Lloyds Vantage current account

I agree with using another account for main DD's too. Just could not bring myself to rely on the Spanish Bank though. ;-)0
-
The credit card didnt work either because its a lloyds credit card and the D/D needs to be 'someone else'
I think this needs to be added to the red herring list. No mention in the T&C about who the DD has to be from, nor that Lloyds TSB credit cards aren't eligble.0 -
You can set up 3 DD from a single paypal account
V1 = PPDD1
V2 = PPDD2
V3 = PPDD3
Though you can't set up PPDD2 & PPDD3 until you have set up & verified PPDD1
So if you started now you would not get them all finished in time for the cut off 31/10/2012 you'd be lucky to get the first one set up.....but there is talk of this deadline being extended.
You can get DD from your
TV license
Council tax
Phone
Water
electricity
gas
credit card(s)
You could subscribe to friends of the earth £5 a month they will let you have 2 X £2.50 DD, probably let youhave 3 x £2 DD
magazine subscription
One of my new DDs is Air Ambulance Lottery, as I decided not to set up 6 Tesco DDs (only have 3 Vantage accounts unfortunately. It is £4 per month. The form was downloaded from their website and posted, took a few days to process and then show up on my Lloyds account.0 -
It should also be noted that these DD are just to get the thing set up, if in the future we change the dd to others which cost less or are free we can cancel the DD that we want to as long as we leave the account with 2 at any one time.
Although it may be the case that the criteria is to have the 2 DD set up on 31/10/12 and if they are deleted after that date there may be no effect on the 4%.0 -

Whatever next will they make up?
The companies will need to be "recognised service providers"
(probably giving staff members ideas here)That's exactly the point, you know you have to pay these bills anyway, DD is the easiest way to pay, So might aswell use them from your vantage accounts. And there's no need to move the money into vantage on or after it has left for the DD, you might aswell keep the accounts topped up over £6000 with approximately the amount that they wil need for the DD, you still get the 4% on the 6,000 if you have more than 6,000 in there.
Yes, what I meant was that I'd simply transfer the money to Vantage when I receive the bill (before the due date), so the account would be in excess of 6K until the DD has been drawn, but if I forget, worse case I lose a few pence interest.
I could open a Santander account as well, as use that for bill payments, but my bills are not sufficient to make any significant benefit, and the CC doesn't interest me.0 -

Are you trying to grow the red herring collection? Where on the Vantage offer page does it say anything about "recognised service providers"?0 -

At present, nowhere.:cool:
However I would suggest having some sort of proof of the T&C's that were current when you apply-as it has been know for T&C's to be changed mid promo.
Also you can correct any mis-informed CS staff.
So far I've had staff saying
1 DD must be active
2. Spanish inquisition asking how\when the DD's were going to be setup
3. You can only open one account every 24 hrs.
Don't blame the CS staff. As has been said it's a new product so they may have forgotten\been given wrong training\are picking up chatter from other CS.
If you don't like the answers you're getting-Hang up and call back.0 -

It appears you didn't read my post correctly. Heck, I even included an emoticon. Do you want to try again?
I can understand "The DDs must be active", as an inactive DD can't be claimed against.0 -

May be I should give up.
Where (apart from MSE threads) does it say anything about "active" / "inactive" DDs? And that "inactive" ones cannot be claimed against?
It's all dead simple: if you can see 2 DDs in your online account, you have fulfilled the DD requirement. If you cannot see them, you have not.
When you can see them, you will also notice that there is absolutely nothing that says whether the DD is active or inactive.0 -
I had no problem with DD's ..just swapped them from one LloydTSB curent account and moved them to the other vantage accounts (I already had two vantage accounts) at the same time converted my current account to a vantage account. Some of my DD's only get activated twice a year (water) The £1000 income into the original accounts is moved around by standing order to the other accounts and I top up any of the advantage accounts when necessary to keep them between £5500 and £6000. Took about 15 mins in branch to set it all up.0
