Just making a phone call to add the 4% to my 4th vantage account, seems going pretty well, the first advisor just asked which account I wanted to add the 4% on, then checked if I had the 2DDs, then passed to the other department, this another advisor even asked which account(s) I want to add the 4%, I have 5 in total, but 3 already done last month. And I didn't want to get the debate if I could have more than 3 or whatever, so I just told them the one I wanted. All done in 3 mins. Confirmation letter will be coming. I will wait another week then try the last one!

I've just had a go - no can do. She said "you already have it on 3 of your accounts, and that's all we can do!
  • So I assume you are going to ring back again later :)

Just got my 4th and 5th upgrade packs through the post, so this doubly confirms the error message check that I now have all 5 upgraded

Yes, I guessed that would happen. But no harm, try another time this afternoon after 6pm to see any luck. I was lucky just managed to do the 4th. When they asked you which account you wanted to add the 4%? Did you say "just one, account number 123456"?

No, I asked for two to be upgraded. Then was passed to somebody who could do it and she said, no. Then went onto ask me if I wanted any other products.
  • Did u already have 6k in the other 3? Possible giveaway?

Following on from my previous post I have now had the 4% added to my two empty accounts. The new advisor confirmed the last person was wrong about historical balances and payments. They confirmed provided the DD's were set up by 31/10 and I fund each account with £1000 a month I would recieve the new rate. Clearly caught the last guy on a bad day!
  • Could someone who has done the "upgrade button" test on accounts that have been correctly set to 4% and also on accounts that haven't been correctly set help me please. I am nervous of getting too far down the upgrade button route on an account that turns out not to have correctly set to 4% and inadvertently commiting myself to an upgrade to silver. I am also puzzled about references earlier in this thread to a BLUE upgrade button since (so far) I've only seen GREEN buttons. It may be therefore that I haven't got deep enough into the process but before attempting to go through further screens in the upgrade process I'd like to understand at what stage in the process the "error message" should appear - and what the next screen is if the error message doesn't appear. This is as far as I've dared go:

1 - When I log in I see a list of my Classic Vantage accounts. Each has three buttons to the right, one of which is a GREEN "Upgrade account" button.

2 - Clicking this takes me to a page extolling the virtues of upgrading to silver, with a GREEN "Upgrade to silver vantage" button.

3 - Clicking this takes me to a page entitled "Your account upgrade summary", with a GREEN "Confirm upgrade >" button.

4 - I haven't dared click this in case it commits me to the silver upgrade.

Have I already got beyond where the error message should appear? If so, when should the meaasge have appeared (and where is the blue button in the process)? If not, what exactly happens if I do click on the GREEN "Confirm upgrade >" button? Is this when the error message should appear? If so, what happens next if there is no error message? Am I committed to the upgrade that I don't want?

Assistance will be much appreciated. Thanks.

You don't get past step 1 if you are on the 4% offer.

Thanks for the prompt response innovate. I applied in-branch on 10th October and the manager seemed to know all about it and what he was doing. I felt reasonably confident because as happened to someone earler in this thread (savetillibleed?) there was an immediate interest credit to the account at the old 3% rate - and he didn't upgrade it to silver or anything because it's still listed as Classic Vantage. Now I'm worried.
