  • Yes I've called to ask where they are up to and they say the same thing. Validation done and satisfactory and application is progressing...

    :(
  • HI,
I have been watching this thread out of interest for a number of weeks, but have only just joined today. We also applied for a Nationwide mortgage and are currently WAITING!!!
    Our timeline is as follows:
Application sent on Aug 7. The Survey/Valuation - took place Aug 10, received findings Aug 15, then received confirmation text/email Aug 23. Around the same time they asked our account to fill in the Accountants Reference (Company profit/ our dividends etc as we work for our own Ltd company) and he did this straight away. So then we were just waiting and waiting and getting the same message from our broker that I have been on here, so at least I was a little less worried as it wasn't just us being effected. Last week when our broker asked for an update they asked to send the latest months bank statement as the other one was out of date now, well thats cause they took so long to process. Thats ok though, we sent it straight off. I asked our broker to get another update yesterday and he came back and said "Oh they want the Reference to be on Accountants letterhead", but I saw the reference and it was a full one-pager with the NW logo and no room for the accountants letterhead and actually said not to provide a cover page. So our accountant did this, thank goodness for email/fax I say!!!
Even our broker reckons they are stalling, but this is applying to everyone not just us.
I have to assume now that they have everything they need so fingers crossed we get a positive reply sometime soon as we are desperate to not lose this house.
  • You have been waiting a fair amount of time then..our application should be straightforward, they have our p60 and payslip and we don't get any other form of payment from anywhere else so can't see a reason for a major delay of more than a few days.
They are working on applications from 26th aug.
  • Before we got our offer they contacted my employer an asked them for my salary and to confirm I'm permanent even though they had a copy of my contract. They seem to triple check everything but hope you all get a truly soon.
  • THats was meant to say hope you all get a result soon...stupid iPhone sorry

I'm a watcher of this thread, too! Applied to Nationwide on 20th August through a broker with a straightforward (I think) situation. They got my hopes up by arranging the valuation for 23rd August, but heard very little since. Similar to what others have said, the broker says they are dealing with a backlog.

I feel for those who've been waiting much longer, though - only three weeks so far, but I think I'm developing a nervous tic from the stress...
  • Our timescale -
    Wednesday 15th August submitted application
Wednesday 29th August valuation carried out.
Tuesday 4th September text received to say valuation satisfactory
Straight after that text received to say we are delighted to inform we have issued an offer
Monday 10th September offer received in writing.
It's horrible waiting but keep trying also guys if you have twitter give it a go. Tweet @asknationwide and they will reply I did this one evening and the following day we got the all important text!def worth a try
  • Me too, I'm really nervous and want them to hurry up! I hope they don't start asking for more documents..

What did you ask them in the Tweet? What informationd did you give them? We've still not had ours, chased again yesterday (as they did say early next week) and they said it'll be late this week or early next. I don't know why I'm stressing so much as we're not in a hurry but we're being chased to sign-off the missives and this can't be done until the offer has been given. :(

    Thanks!
  • What are missives? Sorry if I sound silly! I tweeted them
last night and said can you tell me how much longer my mortgage application will be?
