Nationwide mortgage - what's next and how long?

We put in an application on 25th July, valuation was done on 27th July and we got an offer on 7th August so call it two weeks. I understand we got caught up in the mortgage rush that came with the dropped rates on the day we applied.
I understand your hate of waiting, that's all we seemed to have done throughout our house buying process.
Good luck :-)
Edit: I forgot to add, apparently they were working the weekends to get through the backlog too, so fingers crossed you get an answer soon!I may be shy, but that doesn't make me an angel0 -
I just got an offer through from Nationwide, three weeks from application to offer. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Does the same time scales apply for Accord mortgages since there part of the same group?0

Peggydoodah, do you receive a text to say the valuation was being carried out before they went?0

No, I didn't actually. We only knew as we're buying a new build and have a good relationship with the lady on site who gave me a call to say they'd booked the valuation.
After the initial text saying they had our application, the only other one was the text to say they were pleased to offer us a mortgage.I may be shy, but that doesn't make me an angel0 -
Oh that was nice of them to get in touch. I may give the estate agent a ring next week and see if they have heard anything. Thanks for your help. :j0

Five weeks and still waiting for a mortgage application??? Previous customer and plenty of equity, but still waiting. The communication is also terrible. Phoned my advisor yesterday for an update only to be told they need some more information??? Another wage slip, even though they have two already and a letter written by my wife to confirm when she is going on maternity leave and when she plans to return. Again a letter was written and signed by her at the start of the process which said that she would be on maternity leave and that she was planning on returning to work on the same hrs as before, so why does the start date of the leave matter??? Its always nine months???
I've got four weeks left until our planned completion as per the contract and our flat tenancy runs out the first week of october?? So i'm really hoping Nationwide can pull their finger out?? I've got a feeling our application has probably been sitting on a desk somewhere for a few weeks as my advisor apologised on behalf of head office??? They are really busy??? I'm sorry but i don't want an apology I just want a mortagage which i'm going to be paying back a lot more than they are lending me!!!
Has anyone had the same problems or am i just the unlucky one??0 -
Had word yesterday that they are only just getting round to applications that were sent in on the 14th August - not mine, but buyers down our chain! Not good!0

I am going through the process of getting a mortgage from Nationwide too. We officially applied yesterday, got the DIP and provided pay slips/P60's in the same appointment with the mortgage adviser. We got a text an hour or so after sending the application off which stated the valuation will be done today (31st Aug). Pretty fast! So waiting now to see what happens next...by the looks of it you can't put a time scale on it as everyone's case is different. Will keep you updated with the progress0
