  • Apparently 6 day delay now... Lady on the phone said I should hear at the latest 6 working days. We shall see! Anyone having any luck with it?
  • I'm also watching this thread with interest as we're FTBs in the same boat. Applied through a broker to Nationwide 29th August, Nationwide texted on the 30th to say our documents would be examined on the 31st. September 4th they confirmed receipt of a satisfactory valuation (from the Home Report as we're in Scotland). Yesterday they contacted my partner's employer for confirmation that he'd be employed on the same salary when his contract is extended in 6 months time (it'll actually be higher by then). Now we're keeping everything crossed and hope they don't request more information that slows things down as our date of entry is 8th October.
  • Yay! I just received my text message/email this second, they have formally issued the offer. Perfect :)
  • Ok, I took the plunge and applied for a Nationwide mortgage today - applied by telephone.

Before I had finished speaking to the girl from Nwide, got a text saying they had received my application.

Same girl then spent 15 minutes giving me a buidlings/contents insurance quote and half way through this got another text, saying the valuation will be done on Monday :T.

Then I too, will be playing the waiting game - although i did mention i want to complete end of Oct at the latest and she didnt seem to think that a problem (fingers crossed)

  • That's good, at least we know they are progressing applications!

    I'm still waiting... Stressing out!

Further to my post above, I have just received my mortgage offer from Nationwide :j

So mine was about 3 and a half weeks from application to offer, with a straightforward application, using a broker.

did they ask you for further documents? Or was it straightforward?
  • Just got a text saying we are delighted to inform you that we have issued a formal mortgage offer...Yey! Our application was done within 2 weeks :)
  • For everyone who has had the text, does it mean that we get the full amount we asked for?
