Well done on shredding the coupons Mortgage reduction (think I will call you MRN if that's ok or something else if you prefer:).

Have another uu, Herbal Essences Volume shampoo, 400ml size. Have replaced it with another of the same as the conditioner is almost full as I used up other part used conditioners first. Didn't really notice any volumising effect from it but otherwise it is nice enough.

Couple of INs .. I was given a sample of MagiX Face Perfector by my Avon girl, fell in lurve with it and so now have a Avon 30ml MagiX Face Perfector. I don't own anything else like this. (It's on offer in the current brochure, so I've just ordered a second).

Also, I sometimes need to wash hair fairly quickly (use bathroom sink for this) but my leave in conditioners aren't up to much (must pass on to daughter) so a 99p Avon Naturals 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner in Mango & Ginger. Again, whilst I have shampoos I don't have a 2 in 1. It smells absolutely heavenly. Great buy for less than the pound shop (providing it works well!).

Non Bought In : Latest NBI is a Garnier 48 hour spray deodorant from a Glamour promotion. First time I've got anything from Glamour, I think. I've just bought my daughter a Mitchum to pop in her birthday stocking (on offer at Wilko's) so I'll keep this one for myself and use it after my latest Mitchum has expired which will be any day now.

Re. colouring hair at home. Apart from when the product itself was at fault* I've never had a problem with this at all. Perhaps it's because my hair is so fine and there isn't too much of it, which makes applying colour an easy to control process.

I do recommend slathering the skin around the hairline, ears and neck in petroleum jelly, which you can wipe off easily along with any stray dribbles of colour, to prevent the skin from staining. Also check regularly for dribbles and don't go over the recommended development time.
Apart from a longer development time, rather standard shades and no fancy conditioner for after-care I honestly can't find fault with the much cheaper brands from Wilko's and pound shops. This has saved me a lot of money this year.

    * Product at fault... Yes, that expletive Clairol foam ..eighteen months later the black-brown ends are still visible... the ones that should have been medium brown. After a deluge of similar experiences were reported with a number of different colours in the range, I can't believe that they continued to market this product. I wonder how much they sent out in compensation vouchers?

*Steps off soapbox and apologies to everyone who has heard this so many times before, but not everybody has, I know.*

Thank you for the words of encouragement. Yes, I am almost at 2 weeks smoke free and I treated myself to a chanel nail varnish in Frenzy (been waiting for this for a while) and a Dior blush. So 2 in's for me.

The z palette is slightly bigger, but the construction is not very solid for something that weighs a lot.

:T:T Well done on being smoke free tokkiandoliver - what a fab achievement. What a great way to spend you newly freed up cash!

MFN - You are on the road to recovery! It took me over a year on this challenge not to use the B**ts voucher. Well done for shredding it and enjoy that victorious feeling.
My UU's are stalling really badly this month. 2 UU's Elemis Balancing cleanser & Toner both 50mls. WBA as I really like these products. They are really nice to use, smell lovely and work really well for my spoty skin. I did get the 400mls size of each for my birthday.

I did have to go to Sally's today with a friend and I didn't buy anything! I am so proud of myself. I am now at day 25 of no bought IN's - th emost I have every done. I am feeling very confident that I shall make it to the end of the month :j.
    Have a nice night everyone.

I have another freebie in Tresemme Split end mend shampoo, conditioner and leave in treatment, from my niece as didn't suit her. Already added to holiday toiletries.

The mystery parcel was the free Garnier Deodorant from Glamour, this has saved me a few pounds as was going to buy more deodorant today. Not counted as in as needed and don'tcount deodorant as do not stash.

    Hi all,
    UU for this week:
The body shop tea tree skin clearing lotion 50ml WIBA? Maybe, nice and light, dont think it helped my skin much though.
Pantene shampoo for normal/thick hair 10ml and
Pantene conditioner for normal/thick hair 10ml WIBA? Nice enough freebie samples to try (so handy for travelling), but I'm trying the sulphate free/ no animal testing thing (allbeit a bit half-hearted at the moment). So I don't think i'd go out and buy these.

Hoping for maybe one more uu before the end of August. Perhaps a bit optimistic, but I will try!

    Hugs to all.

Another couple of UU's for me - think this is turning into a mega month to the point where I wish I kept a running total now:D

Batiste tropical (400ml can) - wba but don't have to at the moment as I have another couple of cans in my stash from when they were on offer in SD.

Time Delay day cream moisturiser...yup it's finally gone WNBA as it's way too greasy for me even if I didn't react to it. I've been stash shopping and have now opened a Sanctuary protective 24 hour moisturiser with spf15 - I've had it that long (unopened) that I think it's been discontinued:eek:

    Happy Bank Holiday weekend

  • Hi ladies

I hope everyone is having a good weekend, I need to do housework today which is my least favourite thing to do at the weekend!

I've had one UU this week, Liz Earle Cleanse + Polish, WBA - this is the first tube of this I've had and I really liked it. It wasn't at all drying which is my problem with most face wash. I now have to go back to the rest of the washes in my stash and I don't think the skin on my face will be happy about it!

I have the dregs of an Avon cleanser and a Clinique foaming face wash which needs to be cut open so that shouldn't take too long to UU.

I also threw out about a dozen ancient make up products which were never going to get used, most of them were lip glosses since I had about 50 to start with

    Have a good Sunday everyone!

  • hello everyone!
well done to those who had NPI and walked away !!! I wish I had that same sort of will power.

My Dior SA saw me yesterday and I just said to her "Rachel, I need to walk away" HAHAA she understood :)

    UU's:

Yardleys soap - can't even remember the scent, but I wasn't using it and it was just sitting there taking up space in the bathroom, so TA.

Chanel inimitable intense mascara sample - There was plenty left but I TA because I wore it yesterday and after awhile, it started to sting, so that's NOT a good sign, so in the bin it went

    I have some IN's:
3 rituals nail polish and a mascara from tkmaxx, the whole set was the price of one nail polish so I wanted to try them out and blog about them.

I'm doing a bunch of housework right now and sorting, so I'll return with some more ta's

    happy bank holiday weekend everyone!
