I'm about 80% of the way through mine but it's so drying on me. Tempted to throw the rest away. This discussion comes up a lot - what's the general consensus on products you hate? Throw them out or persevere for MSE purposes? I don't know anyone I could give it away to.

If it is something I just do not like I try to use it up, but if it is causing a problem, I would say dump it, if it is drying your skin, you are probably having to use more or a richer moisturiser?

    Hello ladies,

I'm after a bit of advice please, I was in my local Boots a couple of days back and there was a lady in front me buying quite a bit of perfume, she didn't have an advantage card and the SA had swiped the points onto a temporary card/application form but the lady was adamant that she didn't want one - it was some kind of super points event and there was £10 worth of points on the card, the SA gave it to me which was very good of her.

I can't see any way online to put this temporary card onto my account, I tried to get OH to open one but he wasn't having any of it! Seems such a waste of money just to bin it! Not at all MSE :D I think possibly if I send off the actual application form and ask for a replacement card that's possibly a way around it?? Any ideas anyone?

Welcome back VALM, so glad the cruise lived up to your expectations as I know you were really looking forward to it. Massive congrats on the new job, that's brilliant news!!

I hope Emma enjoys her Naked 2 as much as I do mine, I absolutely love it and use it daily, for all its expense its actually quite good value for money the amount of use I get out of it.

Thanks emsjune. To be fair the cruise sort of outlived my expectations as well. We did spend a lot on it as it's our 20th wedding anniversary this year and that was the reason we cruised in the first place. We booked a Grand Suite which gave us access to the Concierge Lounge. 1) I thought I would be disappointed by the Suite as I had not appreciated how HUGE the ship was and as you can never really tell from brocure photos did not think it would be that big. It was gorgeous - loads of storage space and Emma's sofa bed was really comfy (usually if she has to sleep on one she grumbles about it but not this one). 2) I really thought that the people in the Concierge Lounge would be stuffy but they weren't. We made some lovely new friends and it was great to sit and chat with them each night.

There was an offer onboard to tentatively book for a later date (leaving it open ended) to get some discounts and we have done this with the plan being that we would like to go again in 2014 to give us time to save for another suite. Emma also will be 16 then and at college.

Emsjune - I agree with you about the Naked pallettes, they seem expensive but for 12 good sized eyeshadows and the extras they are good value. If you bought these items individually from other brands it would cost you more in the end.

Valm - Welcome back, glad you enjoyed the cruise, after all the talk of cruises I had a look at some prices and was mildly horrified. Was yours a good deal? Congratulations on the new job, hope you enjoy giving your notice.

Willowbee - hope you are OK.

Emma loves the pallette. The colours do look really natural and I'm happy for her to wear them.

See comments above re: cruise. It always depends on what you want from a holiday and what suits you. As Emma is now a teen and an only child it's difficult to find things to keep her occupied. She did not want to join the teen club prior to the cruise but went reluctantly on the first night. She thought it was going to be like a kids club whereby she would have to make crafts/do facepainting. She made some great friends though and if they didn't want to join in the activiities they could sit in the their own club and chat or go elsewhere. This gave her some independence and we knew that she was safe. Could not do this at a holiday resort. Another reason why we would cruise again.

Thanks for the congrats on my new job. Yesterday was very satisfying especially when the only reaction I got was "when do you want to go?" I know I've done the right thing.
Willowbee - hope you are ok and things went ok for you

VALM - welcome back - sounds like a good hol.

Declaring my final UUs for the month:

Laura Geller - champagne spackle - WBA - like this face primer (also like the original formula too). Am going to UU all my other primers first though so won't be buying any time soon.

Overall Aug was a good month for me - See you all in Sept.

I love the LG Champagne Spackle and am going to try and buy this one whenever I need a replacement. It really enhances my tan at the mo. Have you had a look at the TSV? I won't be buying as apart from liking the look of the blusher I don't want/need anything else from the kit. I am getting low on my BnB but think I'll even hold out on replacing this just yet as since getting back this week I've just been using my Spackle. Yesterday I even went to work with no make up on at all because I just couldn't be bothered!

Won't be going for the Elemis TSV today either. Still have some Elemis products that MrM bought me unopened and will buy my PCMC singularly when I need it. RCI were selling Elemis products in their spa but the prices were extortionate. I told them all about QVC and their buying power! lol

  • One last UU for August.
Aapri apricot facial wipes. WIBA? They occasionally made my face sting, so no, I think they are too harsh for me. They smell delicious though.

    3 ins:
Coco de mer naturals gift set, full size body butter, shower gel and bath foam. A bargain from the grabbit page. Looking forward to trying them out though!

Have a good weekend all, see you in September. X

If it's something that is having an adverse effect on your skin I would say it was OK to bin it or give it away if you can. If it is a handwash or bubble bath say that is just a bit naff I would persevere or re-purpose but I prefer not to mess about with skincare.

I agree with dolly on this one. It's really not worth messing around with skincare.

I'd give their Customer Services a call and see what they say.
