Good morning ladies. This is the first chance I've had to post since arriving back from hols last weekend. It's been a whirlwind of a week. I got a text from my old friend on the day we arrived back offering me a new job so I have been filling my evenings speaking with her/attending interview and generally celebrating! Have popped on PC this am to type my letter of resignation.

Hope everyone has been ok - haven't had time to catch up on thread properly.

The cruise was wonderful - definitely our best holiday ever and we are keen to go on another. A few UUs to report:-

LE hand wash - had a travel sized tube.
VO5 shampoo and conditioner. These had very little left in them by the time the holiday was over and I couldn't be bothered to bring them home. Have repurchased this week.
OPI Party in my Cabana. It had gone gloopy. So sad as it's a favourite so will look to repurchase at some time.
Laura Geller blusher in Pink Buttercream. Dropped it and it smashed so TA. Was lovely but I have other similar colours so won't specifically repurchase.
LE Skin Repair Moisturiser. Love this and will repurchase as a night cream when I've finished my current pot of Elemis Oxygenating Night Cream.

    INs:-

Very little considering I've been away. Did intend to buy a new perfume and didn't in the end as nothing appealed to me. Will wait for Christmas I think and ask Santa for some Philosophy Amazing Grace.

Went into Sephora in Barcelona and Vigo. The Barcelona one was bigger however I only bought a body scrub, wash and lotion (all in coconut fragrance) as I didn't have anything sweet smelling with me and purely because I wanted to buy something! Also bought a bottle of Benefit Sun Beam which is lovely - the first of the beams to actually enhance my skin.

Emma bought the Urban Decay Naked 2 pallette, the UD primer and a Benefit kit - I think it was called Hello Dandy - has dandelion blusher and high beam in it.

Was disappointed that I didn't see the OPI Germany Collection anywhere although both Sephora and El Comtes Ingles stocked OPI.

See you all in September. Have a good Friday. I know I will now. x

Welcome back VALM, so glad the cruise lived up to your expectations as I know you were really looking forward to it. Massive congrats on the new job, that's brilliant news!!

I hope Emma enjoys her Naked 2 as much as I do mine, I absolutely love it and use it daily, for all its expense its actually quite good value for money the amount of use I get out of it.

She wrote "all sales final" and marked her auction as "seller does not accept returns". I'm not done "begging" her to take the shoes back.

    This might interest you:

But most of it only applies if she's a business seller (which I'm guessing not). What a pain!

Emsjune - I agree with you about the Naked pallettes, they seem expensive but for 12 good sized eyeshadows and the extras they are good value. If you bought these items individually from other brands it would cost you more in the end.

Valm - Welcome back, glad you enjoyed the cruise, after all the talk of cruises I had a look at some prices and was mildly horrified. Was yours a good deal? Congratulations on the new job, hope you enjoy giving your notice.

Willowbee - hope you are OK.

  • Willowbee - hope you are ok and things went ok for you

VALM - welcome back - sounds like a good hol.

Declaring my final UUs for the month:

Laura Geller - champagne spackle - WBA - like this face primer (also like the original formula too). Am going to UU all my other primers first though so won't be buying any time soon.

Liz Earle instant boost skin tonic 50ml size - one of my HGs - enough said...

VO5 mousse - forgot I had this in my holiday bag - WNBA - didn't like it, back to my Trevor Sorbie HG now :j

S&G face, soap and clarity - WNBA - liked this at first but found it a bit too drying after prolonged use. Glad to see the back of it!

Vie One Step Face Base soft beige - sad to see this go -as can no longer buy it. Have plenty of other foundations to keep me going but liked this as it was quick and easy to apply so good for weekends when I don't have to feel quite so polished.

Overall Aug was a good month for me - See you all in Sept.
  • Hello everyone, hope you don't mind - have started a thread for September here:

    Have a good month everyone!
  • I have a final 2 UU's for August

Gatineau Throat Gel - wba if it was on special offer, quite liked how this made my skin feel but buying something specifically for the neck seems quite extravagant

Clarins water cleanser - wnba, it was ok but not good enough to repurchase

Off to join the September thread now :)

    Clinique Turnaround Night Cream (travel)
    Clinique Redness Reducer Cleanser (travel)

Will update my list and move over to the new thread with my new stash list.

    Happy Friday y'all!

I'm about 80% of the way through mine but it's so drying on me. Tempted to throw the rest away. This discussion comes up a lot - what's the general consensus on products you hate? Throw them out or persevere for MSE purposes? I don't know anyone I could give it away to.

If it's something that is having an adverse effect on your skin I would say it was OK to bin it or give it away if you can. If it is a handwash or bubble bath say that is just a bit naff I would persevere or re-purpose but I prefer not to mess about with skincare.

I persevered (it's the :money:in me) but I did switch my moisturisers to Clinique moisture surge in the morning and Liz Earle Superbalm concentrate & Liz Earle Skin Repair for dry skin in the evenings which seemed to do the trick. The one good thing about having a stash I suppose......:D
