Ok, l just joined via the sponsored link to MSE, my reference is LLMP67160.
One thing l noted in the T+C is that if you join adsoncars you cannot join another similair company like comm-motion. That's a bit of a shame - l'd like clarification as to why not Jo-Ann? I don't see any problem being on both databases - obviously once you've accepted a campaign from one company you can't accept one from another company until the first is finished. The only reason l can think of is that you market your databae as an exclusive one to advertisers.Sense is not common.0 -
In addition to adsoncars, and comm-motion mentioned already there are 4 other sites I have found;
adcars-europe.co.uk
ad-wrap.co.uk
autocarwraps.com
vistamotion.com
Since each company demands you stick only with them (for 5 years!), how do we choose the one most likely to find us a suitable sponser and make us money?
Also, everyone seems to think there is "no risk" involved in this. I am really worried about clause 17 in the "terms and conditions". The clause on "limitation on liability and indemnity" is so widely drafted that it appears to put all of the risk onto the driver, and limiting the car wrap companies liability to only £500. The wording of this agreement is identical on one of the other sites I have mentioned above. What if there were a dispute about, for example a trade mark, or a copyright issue, the clause would suggest that the car owner would have to meet the cost of the dispute and any liabilities arising from it! Have I understood this correctly? What if the car is damaged when being driven off for the advert to be applied or damaged whilst the advert is applied? The clause appears to free all but the poor car owner/driver of any financial liability!!!!!!!!!
Perhaps Jo can clarify what, in practical terms, this clause aims to cover (I have already emailed this question to adsoncars, but as yet have not received an reply)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Having used several of Martin's tips ( last one £50 from Halifax card, excellent), I thought I would share this with you all.
Have a look at http://www.adsoncars.com/index.asp?ref=MSE1 website.
They pay you to put an advert on your car (up to £220 per month). There appears to be no catch.
I,ve signed up (free), will report back if I find any catches
Let me know if i've missed something.
BlueBird
Modification Note from Martin I have altered the link above to a special one - the company has offered to pay to charity each time someone signs up and does a campaign. Please read below to see how this came about and how it works. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Just a quick one. Buying a new car this moment, on a finance deal through Peugeot, will the Ad invalidate my 3 year warranty / 2 year free insurane or not? Any takers?0

Looks like a good idea...... but!
What happens if the company goes bust? ???
OK... so you don't get paid for doing nothing.... I could live with that.
But how the heck do you get the advertising stuff off your car?
Is it a special process? What would it cost in time and money?
If you couldn't get it off.... what would it do to the resale price of your car?
I've posted these Q's to the Adsoncars website but have had no reply so far.....
Any thoughts? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Careful guys, I drive a black cab in Manchester and I have seen some of the horrendous damage that is done to the paint work when these ads come off. Be warned!

Mike, that's very interesting.
I would imagine any advertiser or arranger of the advertising on the vehicles doesn't entertain any claims for damage as they probably have some sort of disclaimer/limited liability/opt-out clause?
What sort of damage have you seen?
Was it permanent damage?
I wonder what Jo-Ann or any of the other directors would say with respect to this?
I have been considering the arramgement, but the insurance aspect (and now this) make me just a tad wary, as nobody that I have seen has provided specific answers to both points.
;)Mark ENo reliance should be placed on the above.0 -

The facts on the damage to car paintwork by an ex body repair specialist (now day trader!)
1. vinyl graphics are placed onto the car by glue, over the days or months dirt builds up around the edges of the graphic and damages the paintwork when removed. - look at ex police cars if you don't believe me!
2. if the graphic is on the car for sometime water gets behind it and causes staining, also paint fades, especially red and black. expect the paint underneth to be a very different colour.
3. If your car panels have been resprayed in the past there is a 99% chance your paint will come off with the ad! because it never attaches to the metal the same as factory coatings. sorry.
4. graphics on new car paint work WILL invalidate your car paintwork warranty, (most of us never use it though) paint on vans and trucks is very different from car paint (its called coach paint)
5. if your car is damaged in an accident, I would be very surprised if your insurance company would pay for the ad to be removed from the car prior to repair, and because of the glue used (silicones) a lot of extra cost is involved as it effects the paint finish.
6. and finally, when the ad is removed make sure its done by solvent and not a hotair gun, just think of what a hotair gun does to your woodwork!
ads on cars is an old idea, which never really made it in the states, mainly due to differing state laws on car accessories and distracting other drivers, hope this helps,This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
