Jo-Ann here (Director of adsoncars)
During my conversation with Martin I mentioned that if he refers someone to our site who goes on to complete a campaign, there is no reason why he should not receive the £25 bonus.
Nice guy that he is, however, he said that it would be inappropriate for him to receive payment, but how about giving it to [glow=red,2,300]charity[/glow]? GREAT idea, we thought!
I shall post a link to our site in a future message on this message board. in the meantime how about suggesting some appropriate charities we could donate to?
Either post a reply here, or email info@adsoncars.com subject title "MSE charity suggestions".
I'll let you know the outcome and shall post the link asap.

I stand corrected. :-[
If this is the case then l think it is a great idea, and l may well sign up.
I fully support the idea that Martin should received payment for people being referred to adsoncars from his site.
If Martin wants to give the money to charity l would recommend it goes to a poll. Members make suggestions of charities and the most popular 10 goto a public vote. Wow - funny how everything "goes to public vote" these days. Pop Idol, BB etc....
Whats do you think Martin?
I personally l will re-read the website and make a decision to join or not. I have to say that if the terms are as simple as stated above l will probably join.
Thanks for your "motherhen" protection of your "brood" Martin, as usual you jump in to check the water before we all jump on in.

The reason I said 'give it to charity' is I am not recommending the company and haven't done enough work on it to make it a recommendation. As therefore i cannot guarantee it has my 'stamp' I dont feel it is right to take money. I need to very carefully make sure this site is never thought of as a 'money making for martin' rather than a 'money saving for everyone' site.
As you know there are affiliated links on the site, but these are only for things which i would recommend anyway. It's a fine line but an important one.
However i do like the charity idea. Having thought of it a little more. Perhaps the thing to do is add the money to the Barclaycard charity pot. (which is looking to be about £80 a month currently)
Then we'll see if we can use the combination of the two to have a 'moneysavers charity donation'.
I'm still looking for suggestions of the charity. To make your suggestions go to http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=BCC;action=display;num=1057577431
As i plan to have a vote on it soon.
(unlike the Barclaycard donation where half goes to the site - (and pays for the moderator) all the money from Adsoncars would go to charity).
What do you think?

how would this work in terms of tax etc? ???Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

I guess that it would be considered standard taxable income, however you may be able to offset some of the cost as expenses for running your vehicle (petrol, insurance, road tax, etc). Can anyone else clarify this?0

To Jo-Ann (the Director) AdsOn Cars
Hi Jo
A little suggestion as well as giving to charity why not utilise your business and if 50 people sign up from this site. Then put an advertisment on a car; mine even for 1 - 3 months advertising this web site.
I have spoken to Martin and he is in favour of the idea if you are.
PS my code is LLMP37 not heard anything yet????
Cheers ;DI say what I like, I like what I say!0 -
Yes Jo-Ann, you don't have to do it, but if you choose to throw a freebie to MSE.com to test the ads we're more than happy. What Dale missed out though is he still wants paying if the ad is on his car! So it would be an expensive freebie for you! However if you want to....... I wont say noMartin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.
