The facts on the damage to car paintwork by an ex body repair specialist (now day trader!)

ads on cars is an old idea, which never really made it in the states, mainly due to differing state laws on car accessories and distracting other drivers, hope this helps,

I've kept well out of this one but been keeping an eye on it! Now is it me or did Jo from AdsOnCars never really address chris's post and all his points about paintwork damage?? I've looked and looked and can see no challenge to his comments whatsoever, everyone else seemed to get a reply except for chris and his professional opinion! :o
In addition have you noticed any ads on cars in your area?? I bet not.......................we have plenty of the Redbull cars and ads on taxis/buses but I've not seen anything else, and trust me, I get about this country a great deal! ::)
And still no satisfied mse's posting here?? :-/
Damn I was really looking forward to this being genuine!

I am convinced the whole thing is a set up as i posted about 4 months ago. Martin got on to it and Jo replied saying that she hopes to contact drivers soon- still no news!

Oh I remember this! We got really excited about it at work around jan 2001 I think cos thats when I had my accident and changed cars. We all registered in the I.T dept and no-one has heard anything since. In my case, I had an old car i.e over 3 yrs old so wasnt that suprised, but at least one guy had a brand spanking new MG!

the registration form is currently broken - professional?

Would just like to add my 10c worth:

A good idea? Yes, but even if 10 large advertisers choose to each put adverts onto 500 cars each you haven't got too high a change of being picked amoungst the tens of thousands of people who will have registered for this.

Nice to have your name on the list but not much chance of being picked. I suppose that your best bet would be to have a brand spanking new car or a car that gets noticed (porche or old beetle etc.)

Questions for Jo (if she chooses to post here again)

What kind of percentage of people who have registered are you expecting to be using at one time?
Generally (so as to not break any agreement with advertisers) how many cars/vans does one advert go onto?
Do you have any customer feedback we can see?
Should you not have a section on the sign up form asking about other people who use the car? The car could be driven twice the mileage that the registering driver does.

I can see that this is a good and promising idea and that the longer it successfully runs the more people with be chosen. Your problem is with bad word of mouth due to lack of contact. A monthly newsletter to all customers detailing the campaigns that have run that month might help you. Where - how many cars - what companies - what cars.

Good luck with your idea, I hope your doing better than the 4 pages of this thread suggest,

    Harry
  • Has anybody or knows of somebody that has actually had an ad put on their car? Would be interested to hear how they got on! :-/
