Some people see the best in people, some the worst. You seem to be the latter.

    Maybe I am.

Get over it. Or don't. It's up to you.

Maybe I didn't see the best in these parents because all the children I know would not dream of pulling such a stunt as these 2 girls.

The children I know have been brought up decently.

So maybe I am right to 'see the worst' in these parents.

    I'm over it :rotfl:

All the children you know wouldn't do it - that's great. Must be lovely in your ivory tower!

Even children brought up decently do really, really stupid stuff sometimes. The boy at my school is an example.

I don't think you're right to be so negative about these parents without knowing them. I doubt you would like to be judged in such a way by people who had never met you.

So you don't think I'm right. That's your opinion and it's entirely your right to have that opinion.

Look, it's an internet forum where people post their opinions.

You don't like my opinion, that's fine.

But it is my opinion, and you're not going to change it.

And I couldn't care less whether people who've never met me judged me in such a way as you say I'm judging these parents (I actually think you're being somewhat of a drama queen and blowing my comments all out of proportion, but again, that's entirely your right to do so) - that is assuming I ever put myself in such a position that something I had done was made public in the way this has been.

If you or yours do something silly and it makes the national news, then it's going to be talked about on the internet or one of the 'social' networking sites.
    That's today's reality.

Yup. And that is what I have done

I'm not trying to change your opinion, just commenting on it. I presume that's allowed aswell??

    Drama Queen? :rotfl:

Possibly the girls gave up their right not to be judged by people who don't know them when they pulled a sick 999 stunt which hit the national headlines..

Someone who knows the Bridlington area will have a better idea of what sort of families live there. I haven't a clue if it's a rough area or not, tbh.

Seems like the girls are not going to be charged, anyway. Maybe the Police think there's not a good enough chance of securing a guilty verdict, given their age. What message is that giving out..

I'm not talking about the girls who did it. I agree, it's really appalling!

I'm saying that they do not necessarily have to have the type of parents who think it's funny, or are from a rough area etc.

Maybe the girls should be shown case histories of people who have suffered or died because of delays with the services.

I sat with my unconscious mother a few months back for almost an hour, shouting at the operator to hurry up. Unfortunately, there was an accident at the same time so there were genuinely no ambulances.

I'll never know if her chance of recovery would been improved with prompt treatment, but I live with that thought.

You're not just commenting on my opinion, you're saying I'm wrong.

10 year olds dreaming up such a silly, stupid idea and then to actually go through with it - beggars belief.
Obviously, I hope, they didn't realise at the time what such implications their little 'game' caused. I hope they have been punished for their stupid action and they now see what they did, isn't funny at all. If they were my kids, the phone would be in the bin and they would be grounded for a few weeks.
The best thing you can spend on a child, is time.
