Big squidgy hugs hun. Know this isn't easy for you.0

I'll be thinking of you this afternoon, it's not going to be easy.
The worst bit will be coming home to an empty house, no barking when the doorbell rings and no toys/ bowls to fall over.
I know you will have a good cry but you are doing the right thing for you and your dogs.

I am off to bed now, after having a can of cider earlier and just finished a couple of whiskey and pepsi max
This afternoon, I took the dogs for a little walk and then loaded their blankets, towels, dry food and treats into the car and let them onto passenger seat, where they travel fine. They got out as normal and we put them into their shared run ........ it was just like putting them into the kennels as normal, except I gave them new toys and an extra cuddle. The rehoming lady is going to keep me informed through FB so I know when they are rehomed and how they are getting on. I took 6 x 3Kg bags of Bakers complete small dog so they will use this for them as normal until they are rehomed and then use the remainder for rescue dogs
I had told kennel owners and rescue lady that I would cover their boarding fees and anything else until they were rehomed, but kennel guy said no way, as I'd brought their food and they will not be charging the rescue people any boarding fee for these two. I said I would send in a good donation then but he said no, you've sent in enough and it has cost you so much in kennel fees over the last year. I said that I would sort out their other things like toys, covers of sofa, throws etc and bring them in for use with rescue dogs. He made me promise that I would call in to say hello from time to time and that I must get in touch with them, not just dog related, but if I needed anything, like a lift or something moved, as they would be happy to help. They are so nice, the couple who run that kennels :A
Anyway, I still haven't lifted and washed their bowls and their toys are all over the floor, so must get that sorted, though I have got the throw off one of the chairs in the washer now and will wash the throws off the settee tomorrow, when I will also strip my bed and put fresh new bedding on as I will be able to have just duvet/cover and won't need a throw on top to stop their hair and mucky pawprints getting onto my bedding
It doesn't feel too much different yet, as I am used to them going into kennels before I go away, but I think it will sink in more as the days go on, especially when I see them 'advertised' on the rehoming site

I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow at 3 am, that drink certainly helped, and, other than half waking to press my snooze botton and then top the alarm, I woke up at 6.30 tonight when Steve rang meDefinitely catching up on lost sleep
and I fine fine today. And I missed all the daytime rain
I am not going to do anything for the rest of the day, just catching up online and making something for my tea later. A day of rest for meMr 3Dogs 3-7-12
