Evening guys. Mam been ok today, no more sickness, etc though she is still off her food, only eating third of her lunch with no pudding, and then half of her thick soup tonight, but no sandwiches. Had a right job getting her tablet down at teatime, and she kept opening her mouth to let us see it was still there, despite lots of sips of water, juice and tea. In the end, the nurse took the table out of her mouth, dried it, and gave it to Mam again saying 'here's another one', and that went straight down with a sip of tea :rotfl:She was very tired as we left, so she would be going to sleep soon after. My sister was talking to a relative of another lady in same 'ward' but other corridor, who said her mother has been the same for the last 2 or 3 weeks, totally off her food and vomiting at least three times a week, so we will be asking nurse about this tomorrow
I gave my brother a lift back to his lunchtime, and then sorted out his connection on laptop and got him online ok
I treated my sister and brother-in-law to takeaway pizza tonight, so me and my sis popped up to Pizza Hut to collect it, and I used a £20 gift card I got for £15 and my sister paid the remaining £2.75. And it was very nice
Some retail news today which I am happy with as we will be able to check Morrisons prices online from January 2014

Hey 3Dogs, sorry to hear your mum isn't great at the moment, though it doesn't sound like a coincidence that the other lady has exactly the same thing, so lets hope they get to the bottom of that quick smart.
Good news that Molly and Bess didn't spend long in kennels at all - you've done a very selfless thing and now they can enjoy a new chapter with their new homes. xxFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

my sister got a call from nurse at care home to say that Mam had been sick again the morning, after having her porridge. Nurse had contacted doctor who said the choice was ours as to whether they admitted Mam to hospital, though she couldn't have any invasive tests, or she stays in the home, taking care of her there to keep her comfy, with anti-sickness treatments. We agreed that she should stay at the home as moving her would be too distressing for her in her frail state
My brother said she ate very little lunch and she had nothing when me and my sis went down tonight. The nurse had said they are not giving her any more dairy products as it seems to be after them mainly, so she couldn't even try a yoghurt tonight. They suggested jam and bread with her having such a sweet tooth, but even when spooning off a tiny bit of bread with jam on for her, she wouldn't have it. She did have fluids in squash and tea, and was actually bright and cheerful for most of the time, so we had a little carry on with her. The nurse gave her an extra tablet, ground up in water as they don't do this medication in liquid form, so we can only hope this will help her
So, I still don't know when I am going home yet, but at least I don't have to worry about the dogs and kennel feesMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

You have reminded me Kerri, that the nurse said that she has been trained in infection control and teaches this in other homes, and she has found that most of them currently have at least one resident in exact same situation as Mam, off their food, with sickness and/or diarrhoea, with nothing showing up on tests. Very puzzling
I have just talked it over with my sister and I am driving home tomorrow and she will keep me informed of how Mam is doing so I can come up again as necessary. I need to do some things at home, not least sort out my medsMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

I wonder if there is any link with the Novovirus that has been doing the rounds - it's not inconceivable with so many people in one place, plus visitors that no matter how careful you are, something could get passed in some way. Hope your wee mam is feeling better soon, and you drive carefully tomorrow xxFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Yes, I am safe home. I left at 4pm and got back at 8pm, second half of the journey was horrendous at times with the heavy rain, but at least there wasn't much traffic
Mam has been ok today, ate a little breakfast, and little lunch but nothing later. When my sister went down this afternoon, Mam was sleeping comfortably though she woke to have a little drink and fell asleep again. Hopefully, her body is recovering
My sister will let me know if there is any change in her conditionMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Well I know you will all be shocked but I was at the car boot by 7.15 this morning  Not too many stalls there due to wet weather, with showers keep coming over then clearing, but a full house indoors in the market hall. I sorted out the delivery of my wardrobes which will be coming either Thursday or Friday evening. I just have to ring the guy on Thursday to check, so that gives me 3 clear days to clear space in the bedroom for them
I had my breakfast down there, a lovely bacon, egg and grated cheese sandwich - yummy. Afterwards, I went to Tosco to use up a £4 off £40 spend, then home around noon. Resting for the remainder of today, then get working on that bedroomMr 3Dogs 3-7-12
