Hi Susan and friends. I hope everyone is well and not suffering too much with this snow. Derbyshire seems particularly badly hit and we have been pretty much stuck inside all weekend.
Sorry to not be around much but I do keep up to date with this thread. I was sad to hear, but totally understand, your decision about the doggies...a tough but also a lovely thing to do to put their needs first...well done you :A:A
As you know from FB that my life has completely changed in just 6 months...I still struggle with the money side but there really is more to life and I can see that clearly now.:j.
I hope your Mam have got over her sickness and settled down a bit.
Lots of love to you and to the boys and Kit too...and all the thread regulars. :A:A

Hiya guys, popping in to say hello. Lost my internet/shopping/glitch mojo and been keeping myself busy decluttering the house and I am getting on well with that. My new wardrobes arrived Monday evening and the guys put them in place, but not put the two top bridging cabinets up yet until room decorated and new flooring ordered and put down as will have to move everything again then. Room is looking so much better and on Tuesday night I moved my chest of drawers back to the far wall and put the new desk I got behind the door ready to locate my desktop computer there. It is all coming together and I feel that I will be getting rid of even more clutter rather than putting it back in there
I am actually now getting excited about getting the house all nice and tidy :j
It is quiet at home without my doggies. Lady at kennels told me that Bess was getting on well with her new lady owner, who, though older, is active enough for what walks she needs. The couple who rehomed Molly left me a lovely card to tell me that Molly is lovely and they promised to take good care of her and love, walk and play with her. She will have lots of other doggie friends too as their family and friends have dogs too. They lost their dog in January and miss her so much so they know how I must feel. Isn't that lovely? They are a newly retired couple who are still fit and active so will be able to give her lots of exercise. Kennels said Molly took to the lady once they coaxed her over but wouldn't have anything to do with the guy, until they came back in the morning to collect her and she was all over him. I know that both of them will be happy in their new homes and I did the right thing, but it was hard to see that they are now rehomed in their new 'forever homes'
I drove down to Steve & Andy's yesterday for a couple of weeks and spent today in bed sound out till 4.15 pm catching up on my sleep as I hadn't slept for the 2 nights beforehandMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Hello
I've just read most of your diary and wanted to say hi. Sorry about your beloved doggies I can imagine that was a hard decision to make, but I'm happy they have found fabulous homes. We'd love a dog but we live in a flat and whilst I work part time it wouldn't be fair on it.
You sound a very brave and kind lady and I wish you all the best xx"Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little." Edmund Burke

I am having a great time down here in Fawley on the edge of the New Forest and the boys are looking after me well, as ever. Their new neighbour invited us upstairs to her flat last night for a drink and nibbles and we had a fun evening, just chatting away
Today, I have been to the Ideal Home Exhibition with Steve & Andy and we had a lovely, but very tiring, day. Andy drove the car to Woking and we got the train to London from there, so he was extra tired when we got back, after doing that drive. We had a meal after the exhibition and got back here about 7.45pm
I got a call from my sister as we were travelling back, to let me know that Mam is not good at all. She and my brother have been with her all day today after the nurse rang to say she was bad. Mam is only semi-conscious and not responding, she was unable to complete the course of antibiotics she started on Tuesday as she is unable to make the swallowing action, which means she can't drink or eat either now. I had said to my sister the other day that Mam seemed to have either given up the fight, or her body has given up on her, as this time she has not been able to bounce back from setback as she had previously. The human body can only do so much, and for so long, and we do really think that this is her time
My sister is staying with her in the care home overnight and the carers have brought in a reclining chair so she can rest/doze as she watches over her, then my brother will go down there in the morning. She is going to ring me in the morning after the nurse comes on duty and checks Mam, but I will definitely be driving home tomorrow, and then up North the following day ..... I don't think I could make the entire journey in one trip unfortunately, but will see how I feel
Steve and Andy are sad that I am going away after just arriving on Wednesday, having planned to stay for 2 weeks, but understand that I have to go
I will let you all know how it all goesMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Hugs Susan. Big squidgy hugs for you and your family.
This cannot be easy for you at all.
Shame you have to cut your trip short.
