Spoil sport's for not going with doggie in the window, then again, thinking about it they would'nt let us use radio gaga and star treking for me Mum's, but the other song's sound nice and will bring back happy memories.£71.93/ £180.000

Can clearly remember the days following my mums passing, first couple of days were so busy, then things calmed. One of the good things that happened is that it brought me and my dad closer, especially when planning the funeral,we both had the same ideas and thoughts regarding it.
Take thinge easy and dont overdo things.xx:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000 -
Hi there 3dogs. So sorry that you have had such a tough time. I don't often post as don't want to intrude, but having suffered my own bereavements recently, I just wanted to let you know my sympathies are with you.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

I do think ministers and celebrants should come over more to the celebrating life side of funerals, we ended Bro's in December with Bonzo Dog Doo Da band, Intro and Outro, he commented that he didn'y get quite so much laughter normally.:rotfl:
Glad to hear it is all going to plan.0 -
Sorry I've not been on for a few days 3Dogs - your mum has the same name as my niece x I can't believe they wouldn't let you use the song you wanted for the entrance to the funeral - I firmly believe that whatever the families wish for choices like that, it should be honored.
boultdj - for what its worth I think Radio Gaga and Star Trekking were both great choices too, shame on them for not letting you use them either.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

No it was tongue in cheek about "How much is the doggie in the window", we didn't actually put it forward to the undertakers, it was just me saying it :rotfl: :rotfl: Anyway, my brother would have a heart attack if I suggested it seriously
He is looking for some suitable classical music, my sister and I will look at dance band music as Mam & Dad did go dancing in their younger days and that is where they met, at a dance. Or maybe a Geordie song as Mam was a true Geordie and would not be budged from Tyneside. When we were very little, Dad wanted us to move to S!!!!horpe for work, but she wouldn't, and then, when one of his brother's and their family emigrated to Australia in the 1960's, Dad really wanted us to go for a new life, but Mam put her foot down. She wasn't moving from where she knew, very much a home-bod my Mam, whereas Dad, having been in Merchant Navy, would have loved the life in Australia. She said to me only 2 years ago, in a moment of lucidity, "do you like living in the country?" When I said we loved it, she said "Oh I wouldn't. With nothing around you. I like it here"

So sorry to hear of your loss.
We have just had MIL's funeral and for the recessional music we had 'Time to say goodbye' by Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman.
Everyone commented on how beautiful it was.0 -

Evening all - quick post and then I am off to sleep
I took my brother to get a new bathroom cabinet and a garden storage cabinet, then we had great fun putting the storage bin together ......... and got it outside, perfect, just what he needed. I have been rewriting the celebrant's service speech as she really hadn't caught the gist of what Mam was about, and I think it relects her life to a T now
My sister and I later downloaded 'She'll be coming round the mountain' onto CD and had good fun singing along again :j$
I had decided to read a verse at Mam's funeral and have looked at several and chosen this one:
Feel no guilt in laughter, she'd know how much we care.
Feel no sorrow in a smile that she’s not here to share.
We cannot grieve forever, she would not want us to.
She'd hope that we could carry on the way we always do.
So, talk about the good times and the way we showed we cared,
The days we spent together, all the happiness we shared.
Let memories surround us, a word someone may say
Will suddenly recapture a time, an hour, a day,
That brings her back as clearly as though she were still here,
And fills us with the feeling that she is always near.
For if we keep those moments, we will never be apart
And she will live forever locked safely within our hearts
God blessMr 3Dogs 3-7-12
