Evening guys, posting before I get some sleep

Still helping my brother getting everything packed for moving, and took another load of stuff to the tip at tea time. Carpets and kitchen vinyl now down in his bungalow and looks so much more homely now. My BiL still has some painting and other jobs to do, but he is getting worn out, bless him, as he's been at it for 10 days now, so just as well he could have today off as didn't want to be painting while carpet fitter was there

More sorting for us tomorrow morning, then I am giving my brother a lift down to the home for lunchtime, then picking up my Sis to come back here to sort more stuff out, and loading up the car with all the stuff we have sorted to take that down to charity shop

As you say Beanie, busy busy busy here, but all coming together nicely :D. Talking of which, Steve and Andy are doing really well sorting out all their boxes and bags, so their flat is really coming along nicely. Still a problem with BT who keep telling them that their phone line and broadband will be connected but still not done. Think they have to wait until 14th  so no chance of them getting online, except for Sunday when they went over to visit Kit ....... and made full use of her broadband :rotfl: :rotfl:

Anyway, off to sleep now, so goodnight lovelies, sleep well

    Hiya guys :D

I gave my brother a lift down to visit Mam at lunchtime and then picked my sister up, before coming back here to sort out stuff for charity shop. Filled the car up with toys, ornaments, gifts, books, videos, clothes, etc and off we went along the high street looking for a charity shop we could get parked outside of ...... ended up at The Salvation Army shop which would have pleased my Dad. He always supported them coz he had been a Merchant Seaman and they had kitted him out and looked after him twice when coming back to UK with nothing after being sunk during the war

I went to see Mam at the home at tea time, and was delighted to see her sitting up in her chair and dressed, instead of in her bed :j. She is looking so much better since they moved her downstairs to the normal care home, from the end-of-life unit. And the careers there spend more time with her. She has actually put on a little weight since being moved and it is really nice to see her like this. Don't get me wrong, Mam is extremely ill, very weak, and her Alzheimer's is getting worse, but she can still have a laugh and a giggle even at the times she isn't 'quite with us'

Anyway, I am off to bed now, as Frost has just finished on the telly, so goodnight everyone, sleep well :D

    Hiya gang - I'm home :j :j

The move got done though I wouldn't say smoothly or calmly. My brother rubs my sister up the wrong way and, although she does try to bite her tongue, she had to let rip a few times. It just goes over my head these days when he says something tactless to me, but my sister is so stressed out and won't take antidepressants, so gets upset and more importantly, angry when he treats people like this. He is so intelligent but lacks 'social skills' and does just not seem to know that what he says hurts people. Anyway, we got there in the end, through lots of hard work all round. we got into a system when clearing Mam's house of using the chair lift. My brother and/or sister would load it up and send it down and I would unload it, then. as I was packing this into the car, the chair lift would be laken back upstairs and reloaded. It worked very well. I used the chair lift all the time at Mam's as my knees took a hammering with all the work :(

Anyway, my brother is now installed in his bungalow, which is lovely, but he is surrounded by boxes, bags and piles of clothes & shoes, so it will take him quite a while to sort it out  My sister and I took loads to the tip and even more to the Sally Army, plus some clothes to a weigh-in centre where we got a total of £31 for Mam's/Johnny's old clothes :money:spilt between the two of us ;)

Mam has been OK while I was there. I took a photo of her the first week I was there, and sent it to Steve/Andy and they couldn't believe it was the same person they had seen in previous photos :D She was dressed, in her chair, and smiling, and lovely to see. I will treasure that picture. She wasn't as good the second week, with a spell of the runs, and started to go off her food a little, but we managed to get her to eat something, and she does still drink her juice and tea so getting plenty of fluid

I drove back home on Wednsday tea-time, getting back just after 8.30pm and had a quiet day yesterday, just unloading the various things I had brought back home and tidying the bedroom a little. Plus I had brought back a load of duvet covers, old sheets, curtains and blankets and I took them to the dog kennels for the rescue dogs and they were thrilled with them. Today, I got the doggies back. Their groomers picked them up from the kennels this morning and I picked them up from there this afternoon, all clean, clipped and smelling lovely. They were very excited to see me and after I took them for a walk, they settled down to sleep. Bess is in her normal place on the other chair and Molly is curled up beside me on my chair

It is nice to be back but I have loads to do to clear out the bedroom so I can have the wardrobes I bought delivered, and want to order a new bed frame too. I have so much in the bedroom that I can hardly get around the bed to the other side, and after telling Steve/Andy and my brother to clear out things they do not use, then I have to follow my own advice and get on wwith it here :o So I still have a busy time ahead ..... no rest for the wicked eh? :p

    Hope everyone is OK

Sorry once again for not keeping up to date on here but had lots on my mind :(

The main reason for my absence is that I have been agonising over a decision I must make and it has been getting me down. I finally reached my decision the other day. As you know I have two dogs, 1 year old Molly and 9 year old Bess, and I have been worrying about not looking after them properly. With my bad knees/mobility problems, I have been unable to take them out as much as they need/deserve, in case my knee goes on me. It has done this but it worries me that it might go on me the other side of the fields and I couldn't get them back home, so I am only taking them for one walk a day, round the street. I have been so depressed when at home that I have spent so much time away, either up North with my family, or down Portsmouth/Southampton with Kit, Steve and Andy. This has meant that they have been in kennels so many times, and for long periods at a time. Quite apart from the expense, which I can't sustain indefinitely, it is not fair on the poor dogs. They are ok in there, but are used to being in a family home, not in kennels, and I find that I am losing control of them in some ways and have to re-housetrain them when they come come. Molly, in particular, needs more exercise to get rid of her energy, and more attention than I am giving her

I have agonised over the pros and cons of this, as I love them both so dearly, but have to be fair to them and they deserve better than I can give them right now, so I will be talking to the couple who run the kennels and to the lady who runs the dog rescue there and taking their advice on getting them rehomed. Molly, my beautiful 14 month old cairn/yorkie cross, should find a new home easily but it will be harder for Bess, due to her age (9) hence the need to take advice

Not an easy decision to make but I have to do this, for their sake. I need to do this for them, not for me, but it still feels like a betrayal

    :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I took Molly to vets this morning for her annual health check and booster jab, and all was fine. I have booked to take Bess in tomorrow at 2.20 to have half year check up. I pay monthly into a Healthy Pet Plan which covers all their boosters, flea/worm treatments, yearly and half-yearly health checks, plus gives me 10% off any other charges, so these appointments are already paid for, covered under the plan. I just want to make sure that they are both up to date with jabs/treatments and are fit & well for when they are rehomed :o
