Yes, it is all go for the lads to get the keys on Friday 1st Feb, and I have booked removal van from Thursday till Saturday :j
You sound just like Kit with your marking. Well we will just have to arrange to meet up next time we are in London then moneypenny, if you want to that is
Talking of the Emirates Airline, they had a big sign outside saying 'due to current hot weather, please make sure that you take bottled water on cable car'  it was -2 degrees :rotfl:
A teacher's work is never done, We have OFSTED looming some time this year also, so everything needs to be spot on and workload is even higher than it was before. I'm so looking forward to retiring. I was so looking forward to a snow day, but we didn't even have a short day. Only concession to the weather was an after school meeting was cancelled.... but we have to do the meeting this week PLUS we have parents evening on Thursday. So on Thursday I'll be at work at 8 am. teach all day, take a detention then spend 3 hours talking to parents... I'm SO looking forward to Thursday. :rotfl: My poor arthritic knee is going to be so sore that day.
Yes that sign has been there since they broke down during the first week or so of the airline. It would be lovely to meet up, let me know when you're up here again. Will be sending to MP's office, hopefully on Monday.
Enough said.
Sounds like you've got stress Beanie... hope your MP is better than mine, he's a waste of space.0 -

Very late/early check in for me
I down to the car boot this morning to pick up a drop leaf table I had bought Sunday for the lads, having arranged to pick it up during the week. Mr Cafe got it and put it in car for me, after he put the back seats down as I couldn't work out how to do it. Then I went to Dunelm to pick up a cheapo order and picked up lots of other 10p, 49p and 99p items :j. Into town and picked up online order at Bon Marche, then over the road to QS where I bought some clothes and a couple of household items. I felt in the mood to treat myself today, so I did, but everything was reduced price :money: :money:
I have been sorting out things to take with me tomorrow as I drive back down to Portsmouth to help Steve &Andy move into their new flat in New Forest. i have my case packed, and a pile of towels/tea towels/pillowcases ready to take which I sorted out for them. Mind you, at least that made me sort out my airing cupboard, which was badly needed ....... and that gave me somewhere to store my 6 x 9 packs of toilet rolls
I have got a pile of throws, etc to take too, to wrap around their things in the van to protect them, and a bag of other bits I have for them like bathroom bin, tea caddy tin, etc. oh, and I am taking the lads a Norfolk Christmas Hamper as a housewarming pressie too
I am taking dogs to kennels in the morning, then popping in to see Mr Cafe, then coming home to load car and then on my way, popping into Tosco as I go to get DTD on whoopsie which not only went through at full price, it went through twice
Off to get a few hours sleep now - hope you are all sleeping wellMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Evening guys
I had planned on getting up at 8.30 this morning and taking dogs to kennel early then getting away down to Portsmouth well before lunch ........ but ....... Didn't get much sleep and got myself really down, keeping my head under the duvet despite hearing mobile and landline going. Eventually got up just before 1.30pm, got ready quickly, packed everything into the car, took dogs to kennels, called at car boot cafe to leave some money for furniture I'd bought on Sunday, and then set off about 3pm. Ot was very windy, especially on M25 so took longer than normal, but I got there ok, at 6.50. After unloading the car and having a delicious Ceasar salad Steve had made for tea, we all just relaxed for rest of evening
I pick up the hire van at noon tomorrow and we then have to load as much as we can into it, ready to take over to new flat on Friday, so going to be very busy
I heard from my sister that my brother has been offered a lovely one bedroomed bungalow, in a good location still near my sis and my niece, and on the bus route too :j. He is still living in Mam's 3 bedroomed council house at the moment so has loads to sort out ready to move, and he gets the keys on Friday  I have changed my plans now and will drive home on Tuesday then up North on Wednesday to help out up there, so will have to change kennel arrangements too now
Off to sleep now as getting up early in morning
Night night - sleep wellMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Evening all :j Had a busy afternoon here after getting the hire van, helping Steve and Andy load up the van with help of another friend, so all packed up ready to drive over to their new flat in the morning. We will unload and then come back to load up again. Not sure yet if this second load will be enough, or whether we will have to do one more trip, but we are hopping to get most of their gear over there tomorrow ...... and then the sorting out and finding places for everything starts. I am staying over there with the lads from Saturday evening and will be sharing my bedroom with their stash  so not much room for me :rotfl: :rotfl:
My brother got the keys to his bungalow today so my Sis is going round there with him tomorrow to see it and measure up
Right I am off to bed now ................ without my iPad as I need a good full night's sleep
Night Night everyone .......... sleep wellMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Hiya guys, time for an update on Steve & Andy's move to their new flat
I drove the van over to the flat while Steve & Andy went over in their car, fully loaded, and they picked up the keys so we got into the flat at 10am. Unloaded then back over in van and car to load up again. Kit had to be at work in the morning and then at a meeting early afternoon, so Andy dropped her off at college then went on ahead to the flat to start sorting a few things, while Steve and I loaded up the van again before driving over there. Unloaded the van and then Kit stayed there to clear some of the boxes, etc while Steve & Andy came back to Kit's with me in van to get the last load. We took that back over and unloaded, getting back to Kit's at 1.15am   Straight to bed for all of us, shattered
The next morning, Steve, Andy and I took an old mattress and other bits to the local tip then took the van back to the hire place, and they paid for a taxi for us to get home. There is a grassy mound hiding an old chopped down tree trunk at the entrance to the car park for the flats and I scraped the lower side of the van on this, so waiting to hear from them if I have to pay the £250 excess, if so, I will have to pay £50 and lose my £200 depositThey were supposed to ring me on Monday but not heard yet
Anyway, we loaded up both cars and drove over to the flat. We got the lads bed and bedroom furniture sorted and thn my bed so that we had somewhere to sleep that night, then sorted Steve's stash onto the racking at the side of my bed. I felt really at home in bed that night, with the other side of the bed, and along the bottom, plied high with black bags, so I only had the space by the bed/door to use - just like home
Sunday, we sorted out more boxes, furniture, etc, then Monday we went into Southampton for a few bits at Argos, plus net cafe curtains/rods, and some food shopping, then Andy had a couple of hours sleep before going back to work
Problem though was that BT couldn't connect their landline and broadband until 22nd Fb and 3G reception is not good around there, so have not been able to get online. Steve had however been on to BT who have today agreed that, due to his health problems, they will have their phoneline connected tomorrow and broadband the following day :j
I left at tea time on Tuesday to drive home, which took just under 4 hours, getting home about 9pm. Roads were busy and there was light rain most of the journey, but none of the forecast snowI decided not to drive up North today, as I needed some rest plus the wind was really strong, so I have spent most of the day in bed, except getting up for a guy who came to service the oil boiler and my neighbour who brought round some cardboard boxes for my brother to us in packing up his books, cd's, dvd's, etc, and have just relaxed tonight
So, I will be driving up North tomorrow, and starting to pack up at my brother's/Mam's house. My brother-in-law has almost finished decorating throughout, and new carpets throughout are ordered and will be fitted on Monday, so it is all go up there, except I don't think my brother has packed anything up yet  He has so much of his own stuff, plus Mam & Dad's, but he can't take it all as going from a 3-bed house to a 1-bed bungalow, so he is going to have to be ruthless on what goes, but it will be difficult to make him sort it out
So I am in for another very busy 10 days or sobut it will be good to get my brother settled into the bungalow. One thing though, it will mean that I can no longer stay with him, so wwill have to stay at my Sister's house, which is fine, but she has her 2 grandaughters staying overnight every Wed and Sat
