Just to update, we got the bad news yesterday about my brother. He went to the hosp thinking they were going to arrange his chemo but they said he won't be getting any as he is too far gone and it would only make him feel worse than he already does. Three to six - he has a grandchild due in Feb so he is hoping for the six, but having seen him last week I have to say I'm not hopeful but you never know. He's writing his bucket list (told him the parchute jump is a bit off the wall)
I am so sad at your news JayJay. I do know how you and his family feel. Bringing tears to my eyes. Lots of love and hugs hunMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

I'm really sorry, I feel like an intruder but I have just come across your story and the first post alone in this thread had tears streaming down my face. Thank you so much fo your honesty, and others who have subsequently shared their stories. Your approach is wonderful and must make everyone around you so proud x0

Sorry to butt in but just wanted to send bug hugs to JayJay the news must be devastating for you x
I haven't felt able to post in here before though have read every post. You are all so brave in the way you have handled your loved ones illnesses and deaths. It must've been so hard for you all.I see how this wicked Cancer affects my poor hubby who has to cope with me and my cancer.
I have recurrent breast cancer which has spread to my lymph nodes and sub pectoral muscle and the 2nd diagnosis is so much harder than the first one both on myself and poor hubby and family.
To see you all coping(maybe the wrong word) gives me comfort that my husband will when the inevitable happens.
Big hugs to you all xxxxx0 -

I have noticed you reading the thread and thanking posts Taxi, and now I see why. As Beanie said, no one butts in here, they join in
and we would love to see you post more to help you along this terrible journey you have found yourself on
I hope that our journeys will help you in that. What we all write is open to all, to take from it what they may. It helps us to put the words down, and if it helps others too, then that is fantastic
I would add that the only thing that Alan worried about, once he knew the diagnosis, was how I would cope. I sometimes felt terrible telling him that I would be OK, as it seemed like I could be saying that I did not need him, that I would be fine on my own, thank you very much. Nothing was further from the truth. It is so hard without him, but, as many others will tell you, we do cope, as you put it :A
I really do hope that you can bring yourself to post again, to get the help that is on offer here, in one way or another Use it as a place to rant, to talk, to do whatever you need hunMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Just wanted to send you a hug Taxi.
Someone very close to me has had cancer 4 times and survived it each time so I believe in miracles.
It is the most awful, indiscriminate disease and takes too many wonderful people from our lives.
3 Dogs, your generosity by sharing the ups and downs of your journey is incredible. I stand in awe of you and am sure that Mr 3Dogs is watching over you with pride :T:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Jayjay - words don't seem enough but big virtual hugs (and I'd check that list to ensure your brother hasn't listed you for the parachute jump
) xx
Taxi73 - this is a wonderful welcoming thread, I am a regular butter in and outer but haven't been told to butt off (yet) xx

How true Maty, I thought about my dad tonight (nearly 23yrs ago) when I was putting an empty box in another empty box thinking 'that might be useful one day' - was exactly the thing he used to do, my mum told me when she was clearing out a bedroom she found the top of the wardrobe was full of empty boxes in empty boxes :rotfl:, wished he was around to share that with.

Reminds me of my Dad who kept everything 'in case it came in handy for something' His shed in the last house they had was a wonder to behold Not a single screw or nail was wasted, if it came out of something, it was put away in a jar. Bits of wood, poles, fittings, boxes, jars, all took their place in his shed. I take after my Dad:rotfl: :rotfl:
