Yay - hooray, you got it! :j Another vote for shiny new car (could be MSE too if your boot sale does the same as my local one; charges more for parking a van).
It's great to hear some good news from you today, 3Dogs.
Of course I went in my shiney new car :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: No parking fees, pay 30p entrance charge on the gate, though he often lets me in for freeBeautiful down there, so hot, and not a breath of wind. People came but they weren't buying, so everyone I spoke to said
I got there at 9.40am and had a good wander round and natter to friends, then popped to Asda 12noon to 1.15pm, and when I got back, I had my breakfast/dinner of bacon, egg, baked beans, mushrooms, tinned tomatoes & onions - yummy
I went to B& Q afterwards as they had a members 15% off weekend. Only bought low-energy light bulbs, telephone cable splitter and an in-car USB charger but, with 15% discount, were a very good price :money:
I am about to take the dogs out ........... if I can  I wore new trainer today, from the recent Reebock glitch, but the tongue had doubled up a bit and was digging into my foot, and my feet were getting very sore by the time I got home. I should have known better, as new shoes always rip my skin to bits and aggravate my arthritis on top of my feetThey have to go out, so I'll see if it is their normal walk or just a quickie

Hi 3Dogs & friends :j:j
Woohoo at your new car!:T I know how much that will make your life easier. Sounds like you are getting out and about and rebuilding your routine albeit slowly. That`s so good to hear Hun.
A week off for me this week....phew its been a very long summer indeed but I feel I have a bit of spare time now.
I know you`d like to know that I have just adopted a new collie rescue dog. I know the BC breed well but its still been a tough week so far but making great progress and he is responding well. I even had a run in the fields with both dogs this morning which is a big leap forward as he is so shy. Getting him to see me as the pack leader working and is starting to respond to certain commands that I use with my existing dog...he is a quick learner and loves lots of cuddles.
Better get on with my housework so have a great week everyone...I will try & pop in later.

I was suffering badly with my arthritis last night. My fingers have been getting worse and my right fingers were quite swollen, red and sore. My back ached and my sciatica nerve pain was searing down my left leg. I took two tramadol about 10pm and found myself falling asleep in front of my laptop, so went to bed and did get a good sleep
Woken by knock on door at 9am. It was Wayne to start on my back garden now, but I had to hobble to the front door and was so zonked out that I could hardly string a sentence together or answer his questions, so he said he'd leave it until tomorrow to start. I opened the back door for the doggies and went back to bed, straight to sleep. I half woke several times due to the nerve pain down my left leg, and heard the phone ringing and my mobile buzzing several times but through a brain fog, so I slept on. I eventually woke about 3.30pm and got up, but still in a daze and still in pain. Fed the dogs, had my breakfast and just sat watching tv for a while and felt more awake
I text my S/world consultant to apologies for not making class to help her, and explaining that I daren't drive  I started to feel better and moved around a bit to loosen my joints up, sorting out a cupboard in kitchen and picking 2 pounds of blackberries from garden :j :j. So I feel better now, but no way am I taking any more tramadol tonight. I don't wont to 'lose' a day :eek:Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

The very reason I stopped taking tramadol.
Hope it passes soon.

Hi 3Dogs, so glad you have finally got the car, my lovely car became mne on Friday when the last DD payment went through. I said to OH, if it all goes belly up we at least have something to sell now :rotfl::rotfl:
Have spent the weekend in London visiting DD and my brother. DD is fine, we sorted out a bed for her and a few other things (including a pink toilet seat) and also managed to do a bit of shopping (got some lovely fresh baklava - will probably have been spoilt for life now as we can't buy anything that good round here)
Went to see my brother - he is very sick, the docs don't seem to be able to get their fingers out and sort out what sort of cancer he has let alone what treatment he may need. We can only hope that this week they get back to him about it. He had had a visit fro a paliative care team who have pointed out that he should have DLA or something, he had no idea he was entitled as no one had told him. It is a crazy world.
Anyway, really tired now so had better think about an early night. OH is at work omorrow but I have taken an extra day off work so that I can get to see my other DD on her wedding aniversary.0 -
Hey 3Dogs just dropping in to say hello - glad you've got the new car sorted x funny you should have mentioend about what the sellers said at the CB, had exactly the same experience myself - lest I've ever sold yesterday people just weren't buying or wanted to buy for silly money.
JayJay - big cyber hugs from me, you're right, it is a crazy world, some people seem to get all the help and any kind of practical or financial benefits thrown at them, yet others just get left to fend for themselves at a time when they need the most support - something about our society is seriously broken xFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

sorry, quick post for Jay. My brain is scrambled, too many late nights and just seen the most stupidest emails going forth and backwards, and downwards and sideways at work! It makes me boil!
I am getting dragged into things that have nothing to do with me and I don't have time for, and things that need to be resolved are not being resolved! I work with some real numpties!
anyway, Jay! ask your brother to call Macmillan cancer support on 08088080000. They will ask your Brother questions and then advise what benefits he is entitled to and what the next steps are. He will be entitled to more than DLA. (disability living allowance, a tax free benefit that opens portal to other benefits, until there is nothing left in pot and Govt shut down all benefits.)0 -
Thanks for all the kind thoughts.
Aesop, he has Macmillan but his nurse is worse than useless but his palliative care nurse (the lovely Amy) is helping him with that now. Macmillan didn't tell him anything and he has lost confidence with them now. I suspect it is because he is an intelligent man who has a really good job (in the NHS at St Thomas' Hosp of all places) and they expect him to know it all. Apparently he was entitled to it 3 years ago when he was so ill with the last battle but he wasn't told then either. They just managed on his wife's salary for months as best they could and got into debt.
Anyway OH has gone of to work and Kelso is moaning about something so had better go see what he wants - come to think of it I haven't fed him yet0
