You are right Jay. The lady at work who was diagnosed with cancer was never told anything and I had to help her. it may be worth the pallative care nurse writing to see if anything can be claimed for those three years. They can only say no.0

Afternoon guys. JayJay that is terrible about your brother not getting the advice he needed at the right time. I agree with Kerri, something in our society is broken when people facing all this are not directed to the right place for financial and other help. Really annoys me. You know the trouble we had with Macmillan Welfare Advisor  CAB did it in the end for us and they were very thorough and very knowledgeable, but I guess it is down to who you get to see. Hope it all gets sorted out now, and backdated if possible
I got up at 8.30am for Wayne coming to start my back garden. He came at 9am and, as I hadn't been able to find the key, he broke off the padlock with bolt cutters. However, the hedge out the back and from next doors garden had overgrown and was blocking the footpath  He had a check and realised that it would be better if he could access the playground just outside our back, and put everything straight into the skip/trailer from there, but he would need permission so popped round the corner to a lady he knew on the parish council but she was away. I tried ringing the Clerk of the council but no answer and no answering machine. We left it that I would make contact to gain permission and then ring him to come and do the work, remembering that I will be away on and off the next two weeks
At lunchtime, I drove over to a friend's house to photograph a car he is selling and then got stuck in traffic due to a bad accident, where a lorry had jack-knifed across the road, blocking it. It must have happened just shortly before I got there as I was only about 10th in the queue. After about 10 minutes the police asked us to turn around and go round through the villages, so off I went to A$da, and then back home
Got a phone call from CarpetR!ght saying that they couldn't locate my flooring which is due to be fitted tomorrow afternoon   It had been despatched from warehouse but no trace of it at store, so manager said that guy who took my order will ring me in the morning to sort this out. I want it fitted tomorrow as my furniture is due to be delivered on Thursday and that ill mean too much furniture in the room for him to work in, and I have nowhere to put it while he is working
Good news is that the van is away, down at the car boot. Mr & Mrs Car Boot just came, got the remaining tools etc out that I couldn't reach, and he drove it down. The lady on the sweetie stall definately wants it, so I told her to get keys off Mr Cafe and try it out on the car boot plot. She is paying me for the balance on the road tax which runs until April 2013, so I won't have to declare sorn or anything. Main thing is, it is away from the door, and is 'off road'Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Echo what Beanie says (is it just me that finds the word pillock slightly commical? along with twonk)
Susan, could you point Wayne in the direction of my garden too - it's actually not that big, doesn't have lots of lawn and is quite well maintained (thanks to moi) but honestly, it takes much more looking after than I imagined. Spent 3hrs at the front today giving it a tidy up - nearly 3 large heavy duty black sacks later, it barely looks any different  I did feel a bit guilty after cutting back the lavander thats a bit straggly due to being under a tree and i keep driving over it to park - was clearing up and a wee bumble bee stopped on a flower I'd cut and started pollenating itbless it's little buzzy heart.
Glad the van is gone - another thing off the old tick list xFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Hello 3Dogs and friends,
3Dogs, good news about your van,but not such good news about the flooring.
If the shop still can't find it tomorrow, could you postpone delivery of your new furniture? Might be easier than having to shift stuff backwards and forwards - and the weather forecast isn't great so putting everything in the garden probably wouldn't work.
JayJay sorry to hear your brother is yet another person let down by Macmillan. I won't be fund-raising for them any more after the way PC and I were treated when we needed the help they promise.0 -

Afternoon guys - just started raining here
CarpetR!ght rang this morning and the story now is that the vinyl has not yet arrived but will be there tomorrow so they said they could we rearrange fitting. I explained the problem with the furniture and that I was going away and he apologised saying that they would move any furniture necessary and rearranged for the Friday after I get back
My furniture is being delivered first thing tomorrow morning and they are making sure that someone comes with the driving to help him get them into the house as I couldn't help as they are too heavy
I am off soon to take the doggies to the kennels and then do a little shoppingMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

At least the flooring is sort of sorted. Why is it there are always such problems with deliveries, I ordered chairs when we moved house, delivery date scheduled for the day after we moved in so I'd be there to take the collection - found out when we were moving in that they'd been delivered two days previously, a kind neighbour had taken them in for us  Still, did mean we had something to sit on as sofas were another few daysFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Aesop~How did your big boy get on at school?
Great Beaniehe loves it. Has a problem with one of his friend's that he has known since they were 6 months old. But there has always been something about this boy... a bit of a mean streak, have seen it, and don't tend to see him much because of it.
But otherwise he is loving school and school dinners. He came back with loads of stickers today and was very proud of them. He hates the fact he is only half day, although really full time is only another 2 hours, but that is big in his little lifeHe just doesn't like having to go to the nursery in the afternoon.
