Oh, DWP put the Bereavement Allowance of £2000 into my bank account today
Dear 3Dogs - I owe you a hearty lunch! ..Didn't know anything about DWP allowances until reading your comment above - am now waiting for the application forms.
I see another similarity between us; location. If Mr3Dogs was treated at the regional oncology centre, we may even have sat in the same waiting room or been visiting the same ward..
Hope your garden is progressing well, and congrats on sorting out your new car.
Are you doing Mr3Dog's probate yourself, or is your solicitor dealing with it (if you don't mind me asking)?0 -
Will post properly later, coming back from ds' school appeal. Will find out today if he is in.0

Evening guys - it's been a nice day here today - a bit of sun and a bit of breeze
My friend Jenny came over just after lunch to pick up a few plastic trays I had in the garden, for her hubby and she helped me get the two drawer chests I'd emptied last night into the van and I took them down to the auction for Saturday's sale. The porters there got them out and put them into the hall for me
I then did some shopping in Tosco and had a good look around Dunelm Mill and picked up a few bit for the house. I've bagged up some more rubbish in the garden so will be off to the tip to dump that tomorrow
Garden guy i back tomorrow so I will be back to an early start :eek:Dear 3Dogs - I owe you a hearty lunch! ..Didn't know anything about DWP allowances until reading your comment above - am now waiting for the application forms.

Ye, you get £2000 Bereavement Allowance and then, if over 50 I think, £105+ weekly for 12 mth of Bereavement Benefit. Glad I've helped you this way :j :j
Location - Guyhirn, just outside of Wisbech and Alan was at Kings Lynn QE hospital and then North Cambs in Wisbech for the last few days ........... so, are you near?
I didn't have to do probate or use a solicitor as, although Alan didn't leave a will, neither did he have any property, savings, etc. I just had to make a declaration at the bank to close his account and got a cheque for the balance on his account a couple of day later, so I'm sorry, can't help you there
I am glad that you are getting more things sorted hun :TTodays shambles as follows!!!

DS' appeal was turned down but that was to be expected. Am still disappointed though
never mind, will make the most of whatever he has to do to keep his education going.
Have I missed your birthday Beanie? thought it was end of month.
3Dogs well done on all the decluttering, you are doing so well. I am not
am still awake as preparing lesson plans for teaching ICT tomorrow.
JayJay, I won't be home schooling DS, meant we already teach him at home, and I will carry on alongside whatever school is teaching him or more if they are not.
Well done Beanie, on your weight loss pre partying
well done 3Dogs on your weight loss too. :T
sorry If I have missed anyone, can't think straight now.0 -
Bah to appeal Aesop.

Hiya guys - just reporting in before going to bed. I had planned to be in bed early tonight but look at the time  Mind you, it is much earlier than last night's 4am
My garden guy has hurt his knee so didn't come today but hopes to be back to complete the job next Tuesday. I popped down to the cafe and had a cup of decaff and a nice long chat with Mr Cafe, before taking that rubbish to the tip. Luckily, one of our friends from the car boot was there so he got the stuff out and put them into the skips for me :j :j Popped to A$da for a bit of bargain shopping and then home. I've been sorting more stuff out in the sitting room, but still got some to do in the morning before the gang arrive late afternoon tomorrow. I've got boxes all over the place
I arranged the car insurance for my new car today, starting from 1st September, with existing cover for van ceasing at midnight 31st August. I checked at the car boot today and the manager said I could take the van down there on the 31st, next Friday, and park it there till I sell it, so I can declare SORN on it and reclaim the 8 months tax still on the disc
Off to bed now, so goodnight everyone - sleep wellMr 3Dogs 3-7-12
