Anyway, good evening guys. I had a lovely lie-in this morning after my garden guy rang to say he'd be with me tomorroww instead, to finish off the gravel, etc. When I eventually got up
I called down to the cafe for my brekkie/lunch, then took some furniture to the tip and took that flat-pack furniture back to store for refund. Then I looked in 2 stores at wood-effect vinyl cushionfloor and laminates, but found it hard to make a decision on my own
Popped to Asda for a few bits then home, and been on the phone to Steve & Kit for an hour and then half an hour, discussing the pros and cons of laminate against cushionfloor, coming down in favour of cushionfloor, and also searching online together for furniture for sitting room, but not found what I want yetMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Morning guys :j :j I was up, showered, dressed and had my breakfast before 8 am   Good job too, as garden guy was here soon after 8
Had my list of phone calls I had to make today. Firstly, I rang Alan's pension people and they'd sent two cheques out, separately, on 21st August. The small amount hit my account on 23rd August and cleared overnight 24th/25th Fri/Sat but no sign of the large cheque yet. Bank say nothing pending and to get pension firm to cancel/issue new cheque. Pension firm say can't do that until 10 working days have passed, so I have to wait until Tuesday next week and ring them then if still not with bank. Thing is, I needed that money to get my car on Saturday so, unless it appears later today or possibly tomorrow, I will have to delay getting my car
When I rang about my ESA they said it had been 'pulled out for query' exactly as happened two weeks ago, even though it shouldn't have been, so they are processing today and will get it tomorrow/Friday and it 'should' be ok for next time
Then I rang about my bathroom to be told that it takes 3 to 4 weeks to get the result of the asbestos survey and it is only 3 weeks since they did the survey. I said that if I had been told this in the first place I would not have been ringing up to see what was happening for the last 10 days or so, to be fobbed off. And then I asked how we were told in April that the job was put on Priority 1 which was 'to do within one month' if all this had to be done and it couldn't possibly be done within the time we were told  Plus it was set at that due to husbands condition and he had died before it was done and I am still waiting. For God's sake, the Occ Therapist told us the shower was dangerous and we were not to use it until bathroom was changed to a wet room. Imagine if we had done as he said? No shower since 19th April   I still use the shower, I have to, but have had 2 falls since then due to the 9 inch step into tray and the slippery tray, plus many 'almost falls'
So it is a    day so far
At least the garden is coming along nicely :rotfl: :rotfl:Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Hi 3Dogs, sorry I've been awol - not been too well but getting over it now (nothing exciting, just some sort of bug)
Sorry you've had such a difficult day, if people only told as it is rather than fudging we would all be better off. I find it hard to understand why the pension firm sent cheques - have they never heard of electronic transfer!!! It is a cheaper and easier job for them anyway.
I lost 3lb at fat club this week, total now 33lb. I still have a long way to go and to be honest I still can't see the difference myself and it is a bit depressing. I will keep going though and will see it myself eventually, OH says he can see the difference. I have about 4 1/2 stone to go
Anyway, hope you get the car money sorted out, and you get that sideboard (I build all the furniture in this house:D) You have such lovely friends.0 -
Hiya JayJay, sorry you haven't been well petal
I did ask why they'd used cheques and not BACS when they'd asked me for my bank details, and was told 'it was company policy'  Nothing I can do about it now, except hope it arrives tomorrow adn the bank might let me draw on it on Saturday ..... otherwise, take it as it comes
Well done on your 3 lb loss and loss so far - I am sure that there is a difference with that loss. I find that the first thing I feel after losing just a little, is taking the tightness feeling away, the pressure cooker feeling
I do have wonderful friends and all of us find it amazing to think that we all met via the internet and yet are like family to each other. It's as if we have known each other all our lives :jMr 3Dogs 3-7-12
