Thank you.
So Tuesday is nearly over, I'm so tired. Last night was the first night since he died that I slept between 10 and 5.50, I'm just hoping tonight will be the same.
I sold a soft carrycot off a website and also 2 more other baby items (I got them years ago and now realized I will not need them), that's £50 extra coming in. Also have 6 items finishing on ebay, currently standing at the £250 mark. I also sold one of my investment policies for £5700 but don't want to count on money until it hits my account (beg of Sept). I actually made £1400 profit on it in 6 years so I guess it was worth it. I haven't decided what to do with the money, shall I put it towards the loan or put it on a saving account so I have some money to fall back on while on maternity leave? Not sure but I will make the decision very soon.
I also had a chat with my bossed about maternity, I will be off from 9th Nov till 9th May.0 -
Glad you managed to get some sleep, and hope tonight is the same for you.
Well done on your ebay sales, and that's a good result for the investment policy."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hi Kavics
well done on getting rid of Lloyds. and well done on the ebay sales. I really admire the way you crack on with tackling your debt. Tough decision about the investment - I suppose if you save it for now you can always chuck it at the debt a later date. I know its a sad time but its also a really exciting time - I cant wait to see what you and Jwil have.
How is bump doing? x0 -
Hi Lam,
Bump is doing ok, nothing to complain of. She is growing quickly, I can't believe I'm nearly in my third trimester. I am more aware of her kicks and miss it when she is quiet.
Bike sold on eBay, also made appr £200 on other sales, will withdraw the money tonight from PayPal. I will at one point make an overpayment on sainsburys but want to wait till everything gets to my account.
Flat is not ready yet, bedroom needs to be painted next week.
Feel a bit better this week, it really helps that I'm so busy at work. Though I'm shuttered really.0 -
I'm absolutely exhausted, have had a busy day. Cleaned the flat in the morning than went with my brother to Ikea. I bought bits and pieces but mainly just wanted to have a look at cots/storage etc. I now know what I want and it shouldn't cost me a lot, the good news is that I'm getting a cot for free so I only have to get a mattress. The storage system has to be very wide and tall but not too deep so it was nice to go around with a tape measure. We will go back with a friend at the end of August and get everything I need.
I also got a free milk bottle for baby through the post, I joined the Avent website and they sent it out. Every little helps. I have a midwife appointment tomorrow than will take it easy for the rest of the day.0 -
Well done on your ebay sales and glad you've found what you are looking for.
I signed up for loads of baby sites this morning, hoping to get lots of freebies, as you say, it all helps.
Hope the midwife appointment goes well tomorrow."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I Got plenty of freebies, now just waiting for my boots voucher for the changing bag. I forgot to ask the midwife about the bounty pack today, got really emotional when she visited. I cried when she asked how I was doing... Today hasn't been a good day, just keep thinking how much I miss him and that it's just so not fair. I caught up with pregnancy diary too, the last time I wrote in it was the week before he died... Little things make me very emotional, a friend from secondary school wrote me a letter about another friend asking about me- I am not looking forward catching up with anyone, what can I say? Hi, yes, all good? No, sorry, I'm pregnant and L died? I'm so not ready for this.
I ordered a couple of things on eBay, I wanted blackout curtains in the bedroom as I can't sleep properly but they are so expensive. I have huge windows in the flat, the drop had to be over 250 cm. so after research I decided to keep current curtains and just ordered lining for them for £11. I hope they will do the job.
Saw a friend at lunch time and told him I have decided on my girl's name but not sharing it with anyone till after birth. This is a name I always liked and it goes well with his surname (baby is getting her daddy's surname, they both deserve it).0
