  • Hi there - haven't managed to post for a day or so as been yucky, but think I'm on the mend now. Saw doc again a short time ago and he thinks this is adult croup and I am signed off for this week (was off last week), but he thinks I should soon now start to pick up. Just need to take it easy, plenty of fruit and fluids and not talk a lot! So, I'm afraid I've got to sit here and watch the Olympics (no, I haven't planned this illness)!

I have read through but can't seem to retain many facts, so apologies if I've got the names/people wrong. Thank you Dusty for your nice message, and I do hope your DS (I hope I've got it right) is now much better. Welcome to liamsmum and rbadger (again, I hope I 've got it right, apologies if not), I am a recent newbie too, although not done as much due to being ill the last week or so, and thanks to Julie for the new lists.

I'll stop waffling now, I know I'm only slightly sick compared to what a lot of folk have, so this is what I have accomplished!

Yesterday, damp-dusted round, cleaned bathroom and kitchen, including floors. Changed bed and did two WM loads. I took it steady and only did surfaces, but it's not too bad. OH hoovered through and did shopping and did lunch and tea, which was good. Quick S&S after shower today and sorted some mags and papers.

I also looked after the cat's food and fed the baby birds outside. These 'babies' are nearly grown: the starlings are getting their adult plumage, the blackbirds are still quite pale. We've had a few hedge sparrows, too, and the odd visit from the bluetits, but I've not been watching them as much as been in bedroom. (We have a big bedroom with sun all day, nice outlook, lots of cushions and a tv, so although not in bed it's been restful.) Popped into H@me B@rgains on way back from doc and got loads more bird food!

Lots of good vibes to everyone, I hope you all get those things done that are important, but I hope you get time to relax. (Pigpen, it doesn't sound as if you will relax, but I do hope it all goes well).

Well, more synchronised diving in a few hours so now, for me, it's come on Tom!!

    Best wishes to all. X

    Afternoon all

Living room, hall and stairs all cleaned and vacuumed. Also wiped round the kitchen and vacuumed out there. Two loads of washing done, first lot dry and bedding blowing round now. Didn't plan to do the bedding today but forecast looks showery the rest of the week so I thought I may as well do it. I won't actually clean the bedrooms until my usual day (Wednesday).

Also been out for my walk and read the newspaper.
  • Helen, just saw your message and Vali's reply. If you haven't got cat litter try bicarbonate of soda. It won't be as good but might help until you can get some litter.

Bicarbonate and white vinegar is good for good for cat wee smells, too, especially on carpets. Mix it together, paste on carpet, allow to dry and vacuum off.

Hi all, well wfh today, but have dd with me so not much of anything going on, although she did sleep for an hour earlier. She was up half the night crying but other than rash around bum and mouth I can't find anything wrong, so presuming back teeth are to make an appearance. She is not happy, and thankfully tired. She's just watching cbeebies and playing at eating bits of cucumber. But not letting go of her dummy.

I've managed to wash my bedding and hung on airers as looks like rain today. And done a kitchen s&s. Will get DS to go round with the carpet sweeper later when I pick him up, bless him, he loves that sweeper!

Hopefully dd will nap again this aft, and I can get some work done. Mum was here for a couple of hours this morn, but is working later so gone now. Other granny coming first thing tomorrow as I'm supposed to be in the office. She's bringing a bag in case we need her overnight.

    Hi all;

As ever, I'm as "in" as I can manage again this week.:o
My tip is once you have an area clean and tidy don't let it regress, keep it like that and gradually get more areas done.
Welcome aboard to the new Flyers - Dusty speaks wisdom here - I no longer have any hotspots, because I pounce on them as soon as they start to look vaguely tepid.:D Funny how 99% of the time the "tepidity" starts on Mr LW's desk, though......
I'm actually another advocate of the Valli mantra.;)

ta for the lists - I rarely remember to say thanks but your keeping this thread going is appreciated Juliejim and Dusty
Ditto that!:T Even though I follow my own lists, I still look at the "official" ones, especially the Extras, to see if there's anything I've forgotten or needs doing as a one-off task; and Dusty and JJ are the silk ribbon that holds us all together, methinks!:D

OK, while I eat lunch, I need to just declutter some thoughts, clear my mind, style of thing. Feel free to ignore the rest of this post.

I'm thinking I might write a bucket list. I feel my life is going nowhere, and I need some things to aim for.

I usually hold it together pretty well when Mr LW is here, (don't like to let him see me cry) but yesterday I just broke down in tears, I was so miserable. Tbh, I'm just sick and tired of feeling sick and tired, and had to confess to him that I feel like I'm just kicking around here, patiently waiting to die.:( And my patience is starting to wear thin.

There's only so much pretending to be all cheerful and, dare I say, a tad bonkers, that a person can do before something has to give, and yesterday, something gave.

OK, there we are. Don't worry, normal service will resume d'rec'ly.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Hi all :)
Can I join in please? I know you don't hear from me often but I am around :) I am working casual hours in a childrens residential home until I go back to work in September - I've been given quite a lot of hours but have a few days off til my next shift on Sunday and then I'm working quite a few together so want to get stuck in this week while I have more time :)

Thank you to juliejim for putting the list together and all the other ladies who keep the thread going :)

Going to make a start, will report back later on what I completed :)

    Jenny :)

Lamewolf hugest hugs for you. Is there hope you will improve at all or doesn't it work like that? Sorry if that sounds ignorant but I'm not great on illnesses. Would you be able to do another, but more rewarding, voluntary job to give you more purpose? I hope you feel a bit more positive later.

    MOAM hope DS is ok

Lamewolf, your post has made me cry - I feel so trite here moaning about a throat infection, when I have seen from your posts the pain you have each and every day.

At the moment, the main thing I can think of, is that even I can feel the wave of love that comes over on this thread for you, and how the long-term fly ladies here love it when you post. There is a tremendous amount of affection for you.

Hold that warmth and love and try to feel it enveloping you. I obviously don't know you (but I do like to picture what people look like), and I picture you looking like Susan Sarandon, so here comes another wave right now. Much love, R xxxxx

Sorry to hear about the

You have Mr LW who is an :A - he loves you and needs you. Various doggies love you and need you. Flyladies love you and need you. And you love and need Mr LW, the doggies and us!! :D So don't think of going anywhere, anytime soon, OK? xx

I know you don't like people much :rotfl: so I'm sending the flylady bus on its own; I have programmed it to autopilot. It is full of :smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea: for you, from all of us.

    Off it goes!!
