Can I just post a public THANK YOU to short_bird:A. We met up on Tuesday and she has saved me a huge amount of time and stress about finding somewhere in Birmingham. Taking DH to view the short list over the next couple of days. Fingers crossed.

    aw shucks! No probs:D

Rita: you go girl! Blokes don't get it when we get upset about these things, so keep your cool then he can't deflect the issue by saying its about your attitude... You'll soon work out if he's a keeper. Men sometimes need to come with health warnings, lol

yes my attitude has been criticised since I stopped putting up & shutting up (he didn't notice that) & turned it to complaining. I have clearly now explained my most recent meltdown via text - as I have noticed that whatever tone I used I was not fully heard/listened to & there is written evidence of what I said for him to read/re-read. I think the car thing (sadly) seemed to have far more effect on him than anything to be honest.

The bath/shower thing - the shower is in the bath - however I don't take baths & will use baby wipes on feet if it gets to the growing potatoes stage - no am not joking. " rita - congrats on the spine - if the shower is separate from the bath don't EVER clean the bath - he'll either learn or leave!" When he was in his houseshare arrangement he NEVER had baths only showers - eventually only having baths at mine because, "my bath is always nice & clean & the shared one was always too dirty because other people don't clean up behind themselves" - so now I know who one of the other people is ...... note: when I said if I didn't clean with something after every use it would become horrible quite fast & maybe I should stop doing it as he felt it unnecessary for him & see how long that would take he said, "there is no point going to those extremes......". So instead of feeling a put upon fool/skivvy I will try alternative methods - leaving the dirt & not cooking will put stop to his ideas about inviting people over/to stay - yes I know it may also make him want to leave but to be honest things having reached this stage it's preferable to continue as they are!

Also regarding activities - as there have been so much more indoor "chilling - read watching tv - like Janet Jackson's record "you`re always on my couch, if I didn't cook for us we'd starve to death:( - what have you done for me lately?!"(unfortunately not sexual since the sulking took place - yes I would still as that was one of his selling points & am quite happy to continue this regardless of his other recent misgivings:rotfl: otherwise I would have had a flatmate living here!) than outdoor/going 4 walks/dancing etc activities - the next phase is returning to me going out more so I don't see the mess/dirt (ie I won't be there to see it - apart from when I am asleep). As you kind folk have said - he has more to lose than me: he used to live in a 8-men house bedsit arrangement & it's my flat (soley).

It was meant to be a trial run before getting a place together:eek:
apologies for those who find my relationship trials detracting from the cleaning but I really wanted others views/experiences.

    Forgot to say...
the party went really well yesterday :) Someone came with an Olympic Torch for my godmother to see & hold (she could only just lift it!)
    I would put a picture up, but I don't know how :o

Save the photo to your desktop (or somewhere else you'll find it easily) then go to http://tinypic.com/ (you don't need to register to use it)

Then click on choose file and find the pic where you have saved it, where it says resize choose the one for 'Message Board'

    2jfd4kh.jpg

Then click on the upload now button - it will probably ask you to enter the text in the box to confirm you're not a spambot (these are quite easy to read not like some you get!!)

Then copy the bit that says 'IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards'

    20aufz7.jpg

and paste it into the message you're typing.
