OK folks. I understand the margin issue. I do promise it will be filled in time. We were in a rush to make the major changes today. I hope in future it'll be full of nice links to other parts of the site to aid navigation.Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

I get the idea..........but there is too much info/links all over the place.....IMO
To the left, some at the top.............a section now at the bottom of the screen as well under recent posts/every screen.
Ah well given my comments................as you say will have to get used to it :-/
Nooooooooooooooooooooo the place will be over-run with links ::)0 -
Hi Martin/techie!
Re: My previous comments over the LHS menus!
Hi again!
Having slept on it and viewing the screen this morning with bleary eyes, I personally am happy for such a LHS menu to be there, but it needs tidying up!
How about halfing the width? 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Bit weird getting used to - especially as I've just come in from a meal out and had rather a lot of wine ::)
Probably more use for newbies than people who have been here longer all the changes.
Still would prefer it if the 'forum jump' at the bottom of the page is at the top instead of just 'section jump'.I'm a little angelBUT A WHOLE LOTTA DEVIL

Jerry's Springer's final thought on the LHS column !!
Just noticed that.....
on long threads like this one, teh LHS doesn't "drift down the page" so you can still see it.
It is only visible at the start of a long thread and if you post a reply.
Martin, to make the change more worthwhile I would see what you can do about this if it is technically possible (not my forte), or think laterally (Edward De Bono style) and find another solution to make the LHS column visible further down long threads for maximum effect!

opps..just realised this gap has already been discussed, but in my opinion it is worth prioritising as far as your "Techie 'To do list' " is concerned!
p.s I also like the new "streamlined" link to Report Offensive, Racist or Libellous Posts. Personally, to keep myself focussed on moneysaving when using this site, I have managed to "detach" myself and ignore most of them!! However now the reporting proceedure is easier, I may report one or two posts if they particularly make me go hummmmm!! 8)
Good luck! ;DThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I'm with Trix on having the forum jump at the top of the page as well as the bottom. I would also like to see the Chat Forums more obvious on the Main page as I often send people to the website then have to describe exactly where to find them, doesn't help that I can never remember what they are called
I also wonder what will happen to the pages on the thread when a long link is posted, will they go way off my page?
Apart from that, I am getting used to it already
Oh and Martin, Pablo suggested I was due an extra star for having persuaded him to reduce his signature0 -
I don't like the left hand column
it's too wide. I don't mind it being there but you could narrow it a bit - I feel like I'm leaning over to the right all the time!!

Martin - I can certify that this is the reason I shortened my signature so it now measures smaller than yours!!
10 PMs later (!!!!!) I finally bow to the will of the site owner 8) 8) and have reduced my siganture!! Martin, this mini-rebellionis now over due to your site changes (apparently my signature filled up half of edinburghlass' monitor!)
Go on...give her a star or sign a Chhugs bear for her charity..bet "ac" would buy the bear if you signed it!! (*swoon*) !!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Actually - I think it's partly because the bit you want to read is all to the right. We automatically look centrally on a computer. Perhaps you could have two smaller columns, one on either side?Mink0
