    Morning!

Snozberry: Thanks, I'll definitely check out the recipes, no more binning leftovers and buying take aways.

Debtdawg: The paella was gorgeous and I felt like a proper domestic goddess, shame the kitchen was a tip by the time I finished. I never quite managed the tidy up as you go along thing. I think you're right about the deeper need for spending, I think I've spent much of my life trying to buy happiness and then getting stuck in a negative cycle of spending more and then getting more stressed and unhappy.

Welcome Crystal, can't believe another is reading my inane ramblings, I do go on rather a bit :o. Well done on the mobile costs, its insane how much we spend isn't it? Good luck to you too, do you have a diary?

I weighed myself yesterday and I've managed to lose a few pounds, the only explanation is all the exercise what with working outside as I'm definitely fitter too. As that part is finished and I'm now stuck behind a desk I'm determined to keep this going in the right direction. I got a cheap pair of mens jogging bottoms in Asda and am going to start the Couch to 5K plan tomorrow. Probably be an early morning run as I can't face the neighbours seeing me all puffed and sweaty with my tum jiggling along with my steps.

Decided I need to bite the bullet and get my car booked in for a service, its been far too long and it really needs one. I only need it for another year but I really do need it or I can't earn any extra money. It passed its MOT last month so hopefully there will be no nasty surprises. Wish me luck with this one as I definitely need it!

Going to be NSD today and I'm also going to get more bits on eBay and finally start my SwagBucks challenge!

    Morning BC :)

Well done on the weight loss! I've looked into the couch to 5k plan before but am useless at road running, however it's meant to be one of the best ways to tone up (and is also freeeeeee!). You'll have to keep us posted as to how you're getting on.

Cars are a total financial drain aren't they? Bet you were pleased it passed it's MOT though. We have ours due soon and I am dreading it!

Good luck with your NSD day, I am planning on one too apart from the postage on some parcels I need to spend, but I don't (hope) that doesn't count as they are things I've sold lol.

Swagbucks is addictive, I warn you! You have created a monster....;)

I love treating myself with the Amaz0n vouchers that I earn. It's fab!

Good luck with your car. The bills that they produce can be eye wateringly high - not nice at all

Cheers DD and Snozberry, and its snoz you have to blame for the SwagBucks, seeing how many vouchers she's built up has me raring to go!

I'm not counting ebay posting as a spend as I hope to be posting things most days, just as long as it's taken off the ebay total. Just remembered I need more sellotape and bubble wrap, does that count? Arrgghh!

Must run or I'll be late for my meeting.

Hi, BlueCrayon. It's all sounding good. I like your signature - "have a shot at my dreams". Having debt can be so debilitating, so getting rid of it now so you can march on with your dreams when the time is right will be so liberating and a great aim. And so something to look forward to.

Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.
  • Thanks wordsmith, I definitely don't want to go back to the ways things where. Feeling sick when the post comes or a phone rings, the constant worry and sleepless nights. For too long my lifes been ruled by debt and money, I've had enough of it.

I've not checked in for a few days which is very naughty, I need to stay here so I stay on the straight and narrow and don't get tempted by £11 hand sanitiser. It was originally £22 and is a special anti aging hand sanitiser but really why the hell was I even considering it? I'm like a junkie needing a beauty fix.

Had a good few days, had a nice run yesterday and can feel it today! Got a pile of buy it nows listed on ebay last night, it just takes so long, I really have no idea how people can stand doing it for a business and packing it up is even worse. I have an extremely low boredom threshold.

Got to post another ebay sale this morning and then do a good few hours work. Having a day off tomorrow and going to a National Trust property, I'm not normally one for looking at houses but this ones supposed to be amazing and stuffed with bizarre objects so I'm really looking forward to it. We were given membership for a year so have decided to make use of it over the summer and visit at least 1 place each week. We're going to take a picnic so just need to cover petrol and stay out of the bloody gift shop so I'm not tempted by tat.

Yet more eBay listings will be done today, sooner its done the sooner its gone and I can be free of that wretched site.

Hope you have a super Saturday.

That sounds like an interesting NT place :) I want to join but need to save some pennies first! Have a lovely day :)

Ebay is rubbish lol, especially when you factor in fees and effort, but it all helps.

How are you getting on with swagbucks? I'm obsessed :rotfl:

Hey Debtdawg, need to pull my finger out over swagbucks! I've only gently perused it till now but will crack on tomorrow. If I've not given it a good go tomorrow please come round and beat me, or just tell me to go and look at my bank statements and debt totals which will have a similar effect to smacking me round the face with a wet kipper.

Today has been rubbish. It started off well, my postman delivered the Benefit products I've been waiting for (2 items worth over £40 received with a £10 Marie Clare subscription) and then told me he'd noticed I had a flat tyre. Grrrr. Needed to get 2 new as the damaged one was unrepairable and another was getting very close to the legal limit. So I am nearly £140 down the tubes. Unfortunately as my tyres are an odd size the basic tyres plus disposal etc are nearly £70 each. Not good but you never take risks with tyres and brakes.

I went to do my work and was very tired and grumbly when I finished. So I went to Tesco and spent a bloody fortune, this included a bottle of wine, then I got a take away because I clearly didn't have enough food.

I'm furious with myself tonight and am well into the wine (and the whine.) But I'm going to pick myself up and carry on. Its a slip and I won't let it become a complete fall.

Good things: I sold 2 more bits on ebay, I also didn't increase my debt total. Even though I want the Benefit bits that arrived today I don't need then so they're going on ebay, after the fees and the subscription price for the mag I'll make a profit so I will have some more money in the bank and a free magazine for the next 6 months. I've done some research on etsy and I'm going to set up a shop on there, it looks like a good market for the supplies I have to sell. Going to start that tomorrow, definitely need to improve my photography though!

I also got given a really expensive (£70 ) bottle of whiskey as a thank you for helping a contractor I barely know out of a tight spot. I don't want it and no one I like enough to give them a £70 present likes whiskey. Any ideas where I can sell this?

I'm going to get tougher with myself and when I waste money or procrastinate over jobs its going to have a further cost and will need to be recouped from things I already own and do want, but don't really need. Now things like my huge bottle of Jo Malone perfume, unused Clinique goodies from the US, DVDs and vintage collection are all under threat.

We've decided to postpone our day out till Monday as that is supposed to be the quietest day during the holidays while weekends are heaving. It'll be a reward for a great days debt busting tomorrow.

Right, I'm off for a nice bath and tomorrow is going to be no spend fabulousness.

Hey BC, hope you had a nice bath :)

I had a slip up day yesterday too. I think it's because the kids left for a week, I had a bit of a tiff with OH and I had signed up to the National Lottery online for the swagbucks. I wasted $10 on online scratchcards and am so mad with myself! It's taken me hours each evening to earn that many points in Amazon vouchers and for what? I am going to try to sell something today to recoup my costs but grrr it made me angry with myself!

I love Benefit goodies, you are being a very good girl by putting them on Ebay *pats BC on back*.

Tyres are one of those things that you just don't want to spend money on aren't they? We've been ignoring a slow puncture in one of ours but we too are going to have to bite the bullet and get it repaired. I just hate car expenses though!

Can you sell the Whisky on one of the Facebook selling things? Or Gumtree? Or do they not allow you to sell alcohol?

You can do this BC! Blips are human mistakes, we can't be spendless robots all the time! It sounds like we are both emotional spenders tbh. It's a new day today, lets make it a good one!

    Have a nice Sunday :)
