Sorry if I have a negative attitude, what else am i meant to think? People pretending not to have a negative attitude and pretending all is well certainly won't help anything.

It is a simple sideline to cushion the blow of the state of things in the hope the people of GB just forget all about all the crap that has happened recently. Just like the Jubilee was. If people go along with it and go on about how great it is to be british then they are falling for it. Many years ago being British was something to be proud of but not anymore. Its embarrassing to be British now. People in Britain just wont admit it. Its not even about the olympics per se but about the fact everyone is 'so proud'.

Whats wrong with forgetting our everyday problems and enjoying the Olympics for what it is ? The chance to see athletes (from every country, not just GB) performing at their peak. They work hard, for many years to get where they are, i admire people who have the dedication to do their best for themselves and their country.

You must have a heart of stone.I assume you'll be having a moan about the Paralympics too ?

I'm proud to live in Great Britain, even when it's not the Jubilee or the Olympics, can you tell me which country doesn't have it's problems ?

What have you done for your country recently ? Apart from knock it ?

Of course they do, thats why my original post stated noone can question thei achievements. Its the idea that everything is rosey and everyone is 'proud' to be British that gets me. As soon as the Olympics are over, it all goes to !!!! again.

I have been loving the Olympics. We have performed brilliantly and we should be proud of the achievements of these amazing athletes. They work really hard and are at it all year round don't forget. A good boost for morale if nothing else. If you haven't been moved by the emotion from these guys, and what this means to them you've a hard heart
